New player - Nebulon B Frigate list

By Shadow345, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Still new to this game and i've been asked to play at a tournament designed for newer players to get people into the game. So tear apart this list.

Too soft?

Too difficult for a newcomer?

Plan is too set Nav commands, Leia and Tantive for when you want to change over to concentrated fire. Stay at speed 3 for General Cracken. Plenty of fighter support. Nothing in the way of a heavy tank ship however.

Faction: Rebel Alliance

Points: 400/400

Commander: General Cracken

Assault Objective: Precision Strike

Defense Objective: Hyperspace Assault

Navigation Objective: Superior Positions

[ flagship ] GR-75 Medium Transports (18 points)

- General Cracken ( 26 points)

- Bright Hope ( 2 points)

- Toryn Farr ( 7 points)

- Expanded Hangar Bay ( 5 points)

- Repair Crews ( 4 points)

= 62 total ship cost

Nebulon-B Escort Frigate (57 points)

- Yavaris ( 5 points)

- Flight Commander ( 3 points)

- Fighter Coordination Team ( 3 points)

- Enhanced Armament ( 10 points)

= 78 total ship cost

Nebulon-B Support Refit (51 points)

- Salvation ( 7 points)

- Intel Officer ( 7 points)

- Nav Team ( 4 points)

- X17 Turbolasers ( 6 points)

= 75 total ship cost

CR90 Corvette A (44 points)

- Tantive IV ( 3 points)

- Leia Organa ( 3 points)

- Electronic Countermeasures ( 7 points)

= 57 total ship cost

6 X-Wing Squadrons ( 78 points)

2 B-Wing Squadrons ( 28 points)

2 A-Wing Squadrons ( 22 points)

CR90 should ditch ECM altogether or maybe for projection experts to repair Nebulons. With their double brace adding 2 shields back onto a damaged neb can in effect get them to absorb 4 more damage. I would drop enhanced armament from Yavaris and take Turbolaser Reroute Circuits on the CR90 instead.

Your fighters are too many for you to easily activate with squadron commands. I would drop a few but improve the quality with some named characters like Wedge, Dutch, Farlander, Tycho etc. Get Jan orrs in there too to give intel and spread brace tokens around to her buddies. If you can use Rogue capable squadrons as well it takes some of the pressure off the squadron commands so either YT2400, Dash or Han.

What other ships do you own of curiosity?

Madcats advise about squads is good.

One of the hardest things in this game is looking after admirals. They are powerful when alive, and costly when they die.

You have a nice, Cracken, Bright Hope build that can dodge the fight and stay safe.

And conflicting Toryn, expanded hangers, repair crew upgrades which want to go into the middle of the fight.

Resolve that one. It will cause you nightmares if you dont.

Tantive would very much like to have TRC's on it, does not need ECM's.

For easing newer players into the game, I think you have engineered enough inefficiencies into the list to ease newer players into the game. Unless these guys are lurking on the forums or making excel sheets to calculate mathematically efficient fleet compositions, I do believe that your ability to command the list (maneuvering and using the right commands), will dictate how pleasant your opponents experience is.

I totally missed this was for some kind of intro tournament. Its fine then.
