ChaplainAerion's Repaints
Looks like you're off to a great start! Nice and crisp, and I like the added contrast with the red/pink stripe.
This looks SO good! Clean paint job and great color choice.
Anxious for the next set of pics
Very nice! The painting is very neatly done and the colors all work together very well. That's a right scary ship!
My only comment would be that the black sections would "pop" a little better if there was just a bit of edge highlighting on the hull panels. It would really accentuate the texture of the ship by defining the hills/valleys.
I look forward to seeing more of your work!
Thats a good looking ship!

Let's not scare the poor man Piscopas! In time he too will see what we see, and he will do what we do.

Fear not, gentlemen. I've been painting longer than most people in the hobby have been alive (since around 1981). I'm completely open to to C&C and am happy to provide the same to anyone who wants it. This is strictly a "quick and dirty" job for my RPG group (we upgraded our ship, the Black Bantha 77, with a coat of Nightshadow (sensor dampening paint), so I figured I'd knock this out to represent our ride). I might go back and do some more highlighting and blending, but I wanted to have her ready for the session that week.
Thanks for the comments and overall thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. I'll have more to show shortly. I'm thinking of giving some Z-95s the Flying Circus treatment.
That YT is nice!
Do you have a larger pic you can share? Im interested in the coloring and weathering, as that appears to be a similar color to what i am going for potentially with a couple aggressors.

This was the largest image the forum would accept (speaking of which, if anyone has any tips on using an image hosting site to post better pics here, shoot me a message. My Forum-Fu isn't what it used to be). I'd be happy to post a color list and tutorial if you think that would help. Its accuracy might be a bit off since I painted the YT several months ago (I'm HORRIBLE about making notes on my processes. It's something I'm working on improving). Let me know! And thanks for the comments!
I use photobucket. Upload your pics, then select a pic & copy the IMG info and paste into your post.
or in the thumbnail view, click the drop down menu in the upper left of your image and select "share". Then copy the IMG info and paste into your post. (Simply clicking the IMG box automatically copies the info for you.)
Beautiful ship. The colors work so well on it.
Did your buddy come up with a name/story for this ship? It would be a shame to let the opportunity pass by!

Actually, we based it on a ship from the Age of Empire RPG. In one of the introductory adventures you encounter the Krayt's Fang, a YT-1300 piloted by... well, spoilers. But the artwork in the adventure used a similar color scheme, so that's what we tried to replicate.
THAT is a good looking YT!
I didn't know hot mustard could look so nice.
Incidentally, we ended up renaming it the Umber Hulk, so there's that.
