*Whoops! Mispelled Josh's last name! The Ewoks who filled out the paperwork for this episode have been spaced for their mistake.

Hazaa! You finally got him on.

Looking forward to listening to this one on the drive to work.

I hope you enjoy! It should be enough for two or three trips to work - this is a super long episode at around 2 hours.

That's one days commute in Toronto. To and from.

Trying to be like Nova Squadron Radio? :P

Looking forward to listening to it, love me some Hot AC

Haha, we're only about 2 hours short of a typical Nova squadron cast!

If anyone thinks they have a HotAC mission that is ready for Josh to look at, feel free to send it our way.

Just finished the episode, was a interesting listen.

Really hope josh is able to get .8 released with those couple extra missions he talked about.

Will just have to be patient though.

Well done to the crew of the shuttle for another good episode.

Listening right now

Get well soon MR Jim.

Good Stuff today this answered a ton of questions I have had and was excellent. Maybe you kids should get Alex on the next show.

We'd love to do more interviews; not sure how to land Alex Davy though.

Ask him.

Though FFG is IMO clearly working toward shorter and bloodier tournament games, there's no doubt that casual X-Wing (as best and currently exemplified by HotAC) is on their radar as a way to pull in -- and keep -- people that aren't into non-stop competitive play.

My guess is that if he has the time, he'll do Tyderium if you sell it as "the passionate casual X-Winger's podcast."

Yeah. No harm in asking. If any of the crew are going to Worlds, bring some recording gear and see if you can set it up. Alex is a pretty cool guy and if he can carve out some time, I bet he'd be happy to chat.

Excellent episode. Thanks for a very enlightening discussion. HOTAC is doing a lot for our local community and I have really enjoyed playing it on Vassal, too. I need to have our organizer send in a few of his missions, they are really great.

Keep up the good work!

Wow. Those order cards for the AI sounds like a great way to handle the different flying styles. That would solve so many issues!

Great episode, thanks for putting this together.

Great episode, loved hearing from Josh. I'm a huge fan of HotAC, huge. I've run 3 total campaigns and am on my 1st solo with 5 ships. I also have some missions I'd like to submit, but they need some work.

As for getting Alex, from all the podcast interviews and other outlets, he seems like a real down to earth guy, I highly doubt he'd turn you down. So it's worth asking

Another thing I've noticed about the A.I, is that it's great to use while running missions from the core set/various large and ace packs. You need to make the actions more realistic but the movement is great

Great interview.

Very enlightening. I was surprised about Josh's reasons for not wanting to sell the idea to FFG, but it made a lot of sense. As soon as you go official, you need to follow the directives of a lot of people (FFG bosses, LFL, Disney) that doubtlessly will kill the creativity of the product.

I also found really interesting his comment about the Armada's campaign release no being a coincidence. I wonder if he meant that they released it for Armada and not for X-Wing because HotAC was already existing. Or maybe he meant that the whole campaign idea was inspired from HotAC.

Really good interview, anyway!

Excellent, informative episode! Huzzah for Shuttle Tydirium! And huzzah for Josh Derksen and all who worked on HotAC!

We are still on our first play-through of Aturi Heroes (another short name suggestion). For our next, we will probably make some house rules

1. Keeping our TIE/ln Academy damage rule , which speeds up play quite a bit.

2. Offering A-Wings as starting ships. Having a Primary Weapon Value (PWV) of 2 and 1 less hull than an X-Wing more than offsets its amazing dial. The A-Wing doesn't get dangerous until it has Elites/Pilot Abilities to give it purpose.

3. Possibly going with Mercenaries as an offering.

4. Shared XP, because everyone should benefit from (us) Y-Wing XP farmers :P .

4a. Alternatively, change how fighter kills award XP. Maybe no XP for just hitting, but XP for everyone who contributes to a fighter kill (too much bookkeeping?).

We'd love to do more interviews; not sure how to land Alex Davy though.

Buy him a pizza, I mean who would say no to a pizza, With the amount of Pain Killers your cohost is on for surgery I am sure you could get him to pay for it pretty easy :-p

We're doing the simplified crits and shared XP, as well.

I don't think the concern for the A-wing is combat power, but rather that the A-wing has the mobility to pull TIE fighters away from the more vulnerable ships. Later in the campaign, when the other ships are more combat-capable, that's still valuable, but it's not as mission-warping as it is when available from the beginning.

I'll confer with the crew about interviewing Alex. Any suggestions on how to actually get in touch? None of us will be at Worlds this year.

I prefer the all caps @ALEX forum post method. More entertaining for the rest of us.

interesting interview. listening to it now.
