The Seattle area x-wing community recently suffered the tragic loss of one of its members. In an effort to lend our support to the family of Eddie Heisler, we are holding a memorial tournament on September 17th in Lake Stevens, Wa (just east of Everett, for reference). The main focus of the tournament will be a raffle for which all proceeds will be donated to Eddie's wife and children. Check the facebook link for venue details.
As for the tournament itself, all prizes will be awarded via raffle, so this will obviously be a 'fly casual' event. Our local community is really going all out with the prize donations, which will not only include a 'metric crap-ton' of X-wing promotional cards, tokens, ships, and miscellaneous Star Wars-themed swag--but also officially licensed Seattle Seahawks gear. We are also looking into options for custom acrylic range rulers (or something similar) for sale the day of the tournament. We are really trying to raise as much as possible for the Heisler family, so please spread the word. We hope to see you there!
