Estelia tensed up as she took a spoonful of the soup, and found herself relieved to not be gagging. She found it, like the food stall's fare it was not the spare, healthful food she was used to from the convent, but it was pleasant enough. She ate silently and listened to the conversation, waiting for Inata's response.
As she got further into the bowl, a memory surfaced. Her and Ariel were out in a market for some reason, back when they had been together at the schola. They had been given? bought? some sort of greasy steamed bun that this reminded her of. Or maybe she had been there alone because Ariel had refused to follow her in running off. It was all really fuzzy.
