It has now been 24 days since the last news article. Seems like we'll be waiting till near the release date again till we get some previews. Almost as if FFG forgets this game exists until its on their shelves.
This game is so dead...
Ha ha, I honestly can't tell if this is meant as satire or not.

DarthBahamut, are you AdmiralNelson from the Armada boards?
I think you suffer from New Millennialism or something. I haven't got to play the game in 24 days, you're concerned because someone didn't put out a blurb on the internet for your instant gratification. Not to be too condescending, but what did you do before the internet?

You gotta remember, we've got a generation that's never really been without the internet at this point.

The horror. I was 22 years old the first time I used Compuserve in 1991.
I want Gamoreans NOW!

How the time flies. I had had Internet for 3 years at that point in the university. Well, at that time Internet really was Usenet newsgroups.

Oh I'd been on some BBSs before then. And even that Compuserve wasn't the full blown internet for a couple more years.
@darthbahamut
If you haven't yet, go ahead and read this, it'll help you know what to expect as far as news releases and when they will likely come. https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/topic/218992-list-of-past-release-dates-and-spoiler-articles/
Now, assuming you're serious with your concern, if they worked their way through all the news releases about the upcoming expansion starting now (or a few weeks ago) they would be guaranteed to run out of articles way before the content was available and then the articles would lose half of their ability to build excitement that peaks right as the expansion is available. As much as it's no fun for any of us to wait it really is better this way.
Also, you gotta realize they have a bunch of other games they're releasing info for and a lot of people play multiple ffg games and they ideally want to spread them out to capture as much of the double dippers as they can. And there's always news articles coming out. Whereas if they just dropped everything for every game as soon as possible there'd be a ton of news and then nothing at all for anything. Another not so good scenario.
And finally, they are hard at work on the next 1-2 expansions after jabbas realm right now. They revealed in their interview with jacenat and Jeppe that they begin working on expansions about a year before we get them which means they are likely beginning work on the expansion that is two away right now. So it's definitely not that they "forget this game exists until it's on their shelves"
Hopefully this helps a little. Because the game is more alive than its ever been
I want Gamoreans NOW!
While I agree 100% with the people saying the OP is a bit misguided
I also 100% agree with the quoted post. Where the hell are the Gammoreans?!?!
Does anyone else expect the Gamorreans ending up halfway in between Royal Guards and Wookies? High health, high damage Guardians / Brawlers? And is anyone else as exited as I am?
You are probably right. I would think Royal Guards of the Galactic emperor should be the best guardians in the galaxy, but since they came first, and power creep is inevitable, the Gamoreans will probably end up being better units.

So when we do get the Emperor, he could prefer to use the Alliance card to surround himself with Gamorreans instead of Royal Guards for better protection
power creep is inevitable
I don't think so.
Guardian/Brawler
speed 4?
+1 damage, reach
~ cleave 1
3pts a figure for regular
black die defense
health ? 8-9 hope (may be wishful thinking)
what will the elite look like?

I agree with DerBaer, especially after listening to the podcast interview with Paul Winchester and Todd that boardwars.eu just did - if you haven't listened to it yet it's worth a listen
you can find it here

They talked a lot about power creep as an issue and said that the recent characters like Bossk, Davith, Inquisitor, etc. who many like to say are power creep are really finally figures being costed the way they should be. There was a lot of discussion that many figures were originally costed to try and work at the end of a campaign pre-nerf royal guards, **cough cough** or elite sabs that didn't really get much balance/testing since they are so rarely available in a campaign (you have to win them twice) that they didn't see just how powerful they were at launch. I think they called the new characters power balancing finally, at least that's the gist. And we all know there are a stable of characters that are inefficiently costed - Solo, Vader, IG, etc. and the designers know it too and they are working on it.
In fact they talked in the interview about having benchmark units they want future releases to be competitively costed with and named Elite Stormtroopers and Elite Probe Droids as their campaign benchmarks. That was a great thing to hear because we can already see how it's impacting things like Davith having 10 health for 6 points and extra attacks to make up for being a single unit, same for Bossk and Inquisitor. The inquisitor costs the same as an elite storm unit but fills a different function, and with good play can be worth the 9 points. He can compete with Elite Stormtroopers. That's a balanced character - not power creep.
Or Jabba being 6 points, having a lot of utility, and being hard to kill, but next to impossible to move and his support stuff only works for scum (minus being able to draw an extra card). He makes it so you have to weigh whether it's worth bringing in the Rebel Care package for the same points or use Jabba, or bring in some other stuff. I think he's super well balanced. So all that to say, I think they're doing a great job of moving forward with a specific idea of how things should be powered/costed and this game is in a very healthy place and will be even more so when Jabba's Realm hits
Edit - Finish with this - And ultimately, the last thing we should want is people thinking the game is dead and staying away from it, when in reality I think Imperial Assault is hitting it's stride like X-Wing did around this time in it's life cycle.

Thanks. Thanks for that.
Remind me just how old I am.
"Power creep" is inevitable. But it doesn't have to be a bad thing if it's managed correctly. X-wing has had huge power creep but is still a very enjoyable game and most of my plastic ships are still relevant. That's a huge achievement for such a long lived game.

I don't play Xwing really, so I don't know much about it. How can there be "huge power creep" and yet still manage to keep most of your ships still relevant? I'm not saying you're not correct. I just don't understand how that could be correct.

IA started with a huge difference in power between grunts and uniques. Most uniques were just way too expensive. Since then, there was a certain power creep for the uniques. This was absolutely neccessary, to make these uniques playable at all. Right now they have achieved a great balance. Looking at the recent announcements, there is no power creep at the moment. These new units are not better (nor are they worse), they are just different.
I'm very interested in the Elite Jet Troopers (hopefully the are a little faster than the Regulars). And I really like Jabba, the Dewback and the regular Rangers.
Yeah, all three of those units are great additions, though I'm not sold on the jet troopers yet. Hopefully they come with some nice vehicle command cards.

The option to have separate campaign and skirmish versions of deployment cards has also helped in attaining a better balance. Some figures just need to be different cost due to different abilities and different usefulness of abilities between the modes.
The closer the spoilers come to release the better if you ask me.
I just wish they'd hurry up and announce the separate HK pack, so I can get more HKs without buying more Hoths, with it also including a unique HK47.
