When will FFG talk about Heroes of Resistance

By JimbonX, in X-Wing

Honest prediction: after this Wave officially releases

Crazed prediction: Tomorrow.

FFG is ashamed of that product so its gonna just hit the stores as quietly as possible.

Kinda afraid this is the case (though it's obviously not)

We still have a lot of unspoiled potential, but the stuff that was, spoiled is so thoroughly underwhelming :(

Truth be told, I was far more hopeful before the ARC article showed that FFG is still capable of minting garbage like R3 (and, to a far lesser extent, Shara's ability)

If they stat (and price) the N1 against the TIE fighter as a base of reference, Shara is going to be awesome .

She's just flying the wrong hull at the moment. ;)

They are probably fixing the X-wing model, if you look at the announcement, the wings are improperly placed on the model. If they didn't know before the article came out, they did a few days later when I sent them an email about it, then one of their customer support workers forwarded it to the proper party.

What was wrong with them? Are the bottom wings not forward enough?

No, they are way too far forward. Take a look at the picture of the individual model and you should see what I mean.

This is not physical model, this is 3D render. They already have a mould for T-70 X-wing, and only need to make another color scheme.

I think the Heroes of the Resistance article was released ahead of schedule in response to a potential leak of that information. They may have felt that they needed to get ahead of it and so released it.

It does seem weird that they announce a product, then do reveal articles for the Lancer wave, announce the Quadjumper wave and then nothing.

Nothing until September 30th. Which is my birthday and as such, I would appreciate a X wing related release article.

The sculpt is different, they needed to do a new sculpt to put BB-8 in the astromech hold. If you look at the picture of the box, you can see the same issue there. I understand that it's a 3D render, but if they used that to make the new sculpt, than the physical model will have the same problem.

Having started out with a sculpt of the ship that only needs a tweak to the droid socket, how likely do you think it is that they put the wings in a completely different place vs how likely do you think it is that there might be something wrong with the presentation of the render?

This is like the best troll post... too far forward... good one!

Like you didn't know that they are staggered so that when they close they make a complete wing shape.

@GLEXOR I believe you are running into a case of perspective screwing with what you think you're seeing, the below illustrates it well. At the angles in the preview pics for HotR you can't get a good sense of where exactly the wings meet up.

I think they just announced it early to have something to announce May 4th. It wouldn't surprise me if they don't actually intend to release it until Force Friday now.

The front of the top wing DOESN'T line up with the back of the bottom one in the 3D render though. Probably not the case on the sculpt, but on the digital representation of it they don't line up right.

You're right... you're right... don't go on about!!! :)

The top wings are too far back. There appears to be a second astromech compartment in front of BB-8.

But not in this image:

It's on the boat so it can't be far off, then we get that brilliant article telling us why ps9 Poe doesn't suck compared to ps8.

Correct card art?

I still think he should have been 32 though: proto-Poe doesn't need to remain relevant.
