Blount and Y-wings

By Impetigo, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hi!

I'm pretty new to the game and trying to build a competitive list featuring my beloved Y-wings. This one is inspired by the Blount/B-wing list that someone posted a while back. Here goes:

Lieutenant Blount, S-thread Tracers (18)

Gold Squadron Pilot, Guidance chips, Extra munitions, Autoblaster turret, R5 Astromech, Plasma torpedos (26)

Gold Squadron Pilot, Guidance chips, Extra munitions, Autoblaster turret, R5 Astromech, Ion torpedos (28)

Gold Squadron Pilot, Guidance chips, Extra munitions, Autoblaster turret, R5 Astromech, Ion torpedos (28)

Alpha strike with tracers and then Plasma, Ion, Ion. The following round flying in at range 1 of the ionized ship(s) and cleaning house with Autoblasters. R5 Astromechs for some extra staying power. Extra munitions to keep my opponent on his toes even after the alpha strike.

What do you guys think?

I like it, it's my kind of list. Old school meets new tricks, plus it's based on my favorite ship: the Y-wing.

- I might try the R2 Astromech instead of the R5. It really opens up the Y's dial. R5 for toughness, R2 for maneuverability.

- You might as well give Lt. Blount Adaptability for that +1 PS

You might have issues getting the plasma's off. The low PS is going to delay your ability to either stay in arc, or at the very least get the target lock needed to shoot. Vi could fix that issue so dropping down an Ion or both for say protons and up Blount and you have a better chance
