I think this setup will be really common going forward. It needs a name!

The name should be "The ship you absolutely, positively, have to kill right away, without delay, right now."

Yea, it's certainly my preferred Yavaris build, and I've been flying exclusively Yavaris builds for a long time. It'll be sad not having Raymus for that third activation, but a Comms Net GR-75 can help out some here or insulate a teeny bit against a Slicer Tool.

That being said, I'll probably end up running Wing Commander more often instead during tournaments, as insurance against Slicer Tools. It's close to game over if you're flying a Yavaris build but miss your squad command, even once.

Can confirm, sucks pretty hard.

Not sure if a special name is needed, I mean after all, it's the same good ol' Yavaris that we all know and love.

This is not the same anymore. Just having Flight Commander on Yavaris is like making it a new ship. Add Fighter Coordination Teams and Yavaris 3.0 is born.

Sure, but at the end of the day it's still Yavaris. Names are stupid.

Ships named after people are stupid

Admiral Gallant Haven would like a word with you in his office....

Rumor is you're being reassinged to his brother Goofus Haven's fleet...

Haha! I specifically meant community named ships.

Highlight of the thread.

So, as the Yavaris ability is triggered by the Squadron command that activated the squadrons. As both FCT & FC may be triggered after the ship has moved, you get to choose the order of activation. Hence, the FCT move happens outside of the Squadron activation, thus triggering the Yavaris ability.

I can agree with that. Not everyone dwells on these forums..

I like the phrase "The Yavaris Two Step"

My Liberty was subjegted to the "The Yavaris Two Step" in my last game and had most of its shields and a good portion of the hull ripped away, by Keyan and a B-wing.

Okay a Bomber Command center also had its fair share of bad influence on my Liberty. :D

This last part confused me but I think you are saying hat FCTs negate Yavaris which is false. Yavaris did not move them with a squadron command so they get to partake of its ability.

No hes not lyr, but he could have worded it better.

First time really building a new fleet:

dunno what to do for objectives, so I'm open to ideas.

This is the build you are looking for:, add escorts to taste. All I ask is people recognise that a lot of good fleet ideas come from me!

Made a copy of yours but took out 1 B-wing and added 2 X-wings for escort.

Curious as to what people end up doing with these builds.

You know, the big downside of FCT is that it just takes a single squadron to engage, and *poof* - no more free movement. Even a heavy squadron will do, as they still engage...

Which is why its a Bwing trick. They have the anti squad dice to fight their way through. With Ywings or Tie Bombers it would be game over.

My Rieekan list running Defiance and Yavaris are also utilizing the FCT to good success. While B-Wings are good, I'm currently loving it with X-Wings as well.

The most important fct move is turn one, which is quite immune from engagement... after that fc makes bigger waves... "oh I just ran over all of my squadrons, will you out em at the back and give em free distance one, or keep em at the front where they can be engaged essentially giving em a move anyways?"
