is there any location cards in the adventurers toolkit... does it come with a rule book or anything?

No locations, a couple of items, lots of new talents, a few new wounds, some new conditions, careers and action cards predominate.

There isn't a rulebook, rather a rule-pamphlet for managing the pets and new actions.

Interesting... I didn't get a pamphlet... I don't think any of my players did either (we had 5 copies between us).

There is a pamphlet in mine, it has a list of the cards, standups and so on in the box as well as short descriptions of the career item cards, new action cards and the SbVD along with a colophone for the credits.

Might be an idea, seems to be causing some rules cofustion as well, are you in the US or Euroland? Seems that the late printing has it, but not the earli US one, from what I gather.

Mine has a pamphlet. Contact FFG, don't just put stuff on the forums or The Geek (as cool as they both are). This is equivalent to a mispackage, which should be dealt with the producer of the game.
