Countess Ryad thoughts?

Ryad (Stealth Device, /x7, Outmaneuver)

Vessery (ION Engine, /D, Tractor Beam, Outmaneuver)

Scimitar Squadron (Title, Rebel Captive, Long Ranger Scanner, Weapons Engineer)

Lots of fun.

TIE Shuttle takes away your missile and torpedo slots, so you can't use LRS with it.

Perhaps I should get better at reading cards. My mistake.

Ryad with PTL, X7 title and Mk 2 ion is wonderful. I live Vessery and his ability particularly with Tie/D, however I find get either gets heavily focused first or his wingmates do which nullifies hus ability.

Ryad lasts a long time and her range of K turns are hard to predict and block, particularly given her low PS. She's easily my favourite Defender pilot, but then again I do tend to prefer ships that are self-sufficient and don't rely on others for their actions/abilities.

Going a totally different route, I outfitted her with the following:

TIE/D

PTL

Ion Cannon

Stealth Device

It may look underwhelming at first, but this combo is a true killer. If the Ion cannon lands just once, your opponent is half done. Just 5K(green) behind him and latch onto him like a tick. You'll still need your green dice to come through for you, though. But with the added maneuverability from PTL, you'll be able to BR out of arcs, too.

I have heard many people tell me that TIE Mk.II Engine would be better on this build to add to the unpredictability of my maneuvers. What I've experienced, though is the following: If you have white banks on her, it's way more unpredictable if you actually fly one. People just expect you to clear your stress every turn with those beautiful green K-turns.

I played this weekend the recommended Ryad (Push The Limit + X7 Title + MkII engine) with Vader (x1 Title + Predator + Adv.Targeting Comp.+ Hull Upg) in a 2 x 36p very casual game, and i loved the Countess all the way.

The Mk2 and PTL gives you some flexibility if you want to do something different of a 3-4-5 speed movement, and clear the stress. I find the Juke built less useful, because usually i have to spend the token on defense. But it's cheaper.

I'm loving to play Imperial with some shields. The Interceptor is my fav ship EVER, but i find refreshing playing with a ship less squishy...

mostly I think of her in the shower with a lot of soap...

She's a solid pick but she's no Rexler.

Is that a good or bad thing?

How has Stealth device been working for you? Most of the Tie/D experiments I've seen have used Hull Upgrade.

It's kind of a gamble. I've had games where the very first attack would go through and I effectively wasted 4 points. But then again, there were games when I would never get hit due to the extra defense die and conservative flying. I strongly recommend to use repositioning actions whenever you can to get out of arcs. The offensive output + control element is still amazing.

Ryad is a monster. Slap Lone Wolf, x7 title, and SD on her she will 1v1 just about anyone (except guys with undodgeable attacks) and win a LOT.

Every time i run her like that i overkill OL if i see him or any autoblaster users/ten numb. From that point on i literally dont care about my other ships, its all Ryad lol

I flew against this list over the weekend, and it totally rocked me three times in a row. Granted, I was flying YV-666, Misthunter and Y-Wing so the 1 Agility fest didn't help. She would K-Turn out of arc, and line up a shot. With three Defenders on the map, it was nearly impossible to stay out of arc of all three of them. Ryad would Tractor whatever target they wanted to focus fire on that turn, and usually landed the shot. Then she'd fire again with her primary, along with the two Glaive, and they'd all be having a field day in landing damage. Against low agility targets, the TIE/D title is brutal.

The Countess are what dreams are made of She's magical

Now I haven't tried this, but from my pre-Imperial Veterans Defender days, PTL, HLC, Mk2 Engines for 45 points looks pretty sweet. I would have given a lot to get access to her ability even when I was just using HLCS.

This has been my build with her recently:

Tomax Bren (32)
TIE Bomber (24), Crack Shot (1), Extra Munitions (2), Homing Missiles (5), Long Range Scanners (0)

Colonel Vessery (34)
TIE Defender (35), Veteran Instincts (1), TIE/x7 (-2)

Countess Ryad (34)
TIE Defender (34), Juke (2), TIE/x7 (-2)

Had some good games with it, obviously the idea is for the bomber to hang back, getting locks, firing missiles at range 3, while the colonel and the countess light the fires and steam headlong into the fray. so far, only lost one game, which was the first game I flew the list and I continually forgot to use Juke and Crack Shot. Ryad's lower pilot skill makes her very good for juke as, by the time she shoots, it's likely the target will have spent its focus token evading fire from one or the other PS8 pilots (preferably both). this has made her very good for delivering the killing blow.

Pondering dropping the homing missiles down to ions to pay for TIE Mk2's on the defenders, I haven't felt a huge need for the extra greens - but you never know.

Vessery, Ryad, and Rudor is hella fun.

I find Ryad great to fly, she is just extremely boring and hardly challenging.

I have playing this list with very good results, and almost always Ryad is the star:

- Marek Steele, Tie X7, Veteran Insticts, Tie engine MK II

- Delta Squadron Pilot, Tie X7, Tie Engine MK II

- Countess Ryad, Push the Limit, Tie X7, Tie Engine MK II

Superfun to play and very efective
