New Armada Vassal Module version 2.3.0 (beta)

The Armada module has been updated to version 2.3.0!

Due to major changes to graphics, including base sizes, arcs and ranges, 2.3.0 is ABSOLUTELY NOT compatible with older versions.

The build is similar to 2.2.11 (campaign beta), but with new graphics and some other tweaks.

Hopefully I've caught bugs and glitches before uploading, but if you spot anything, please report it!

KEY CHANGES:

You can follow the incremental improvements from 2.2.0 via 2.1.0 to 2.2.0 here you're interested, but here is a summary:

- finalized auto-report tweaks (type of token manipulated + squadrons activated)

- new realistic graphics for ships

- standardized base/token sizes

- tweaked range/arcs for ships (correct sizes and arcs, bright arc lines) and distance measurements (greater contrast between bands)

- CC preview squadrons added

- Wave 5 preview cards added

- Pelta and Arquitens models added (best guesstimate on arcs)

- prototype campaign system (draft version in preparation of CC)

- prototype scenario setup system (not fully implemented)

- Notes functionality

- some button and layout changes

- other minor changes

THE FUTURE

Final product may vary in appearance, but this should give a strong indication where we are moving.

(I think I'll add some more colored versions of the unique squadrons, if I can get them to look good)

The campaign and scenario section will be expanded upon, to include both the CC and Take the Station.

Wave 5 and CC components will be added as soon as they are available.

BETA TESTING NEEDED!

I've cleaned the module quite a bit. Defense tokens should now react much faster than before. Same with the maneuver tool (it remains a bit laggy at times - I intend to find out why and fix it). But there is probably still room for improvement - but I need some feedback to catch things that are buggy, slow or otherwise not very convenient. That's where you come in...please post your findings here, or PM me.

- due to performance issues, the quick-turn and 180 turn buttons for ships have been deactivated (for the time being)

The spawn tokens are absolutely amazing.

(Though can we shift the ship spawn slightly right.... certain ships obscure the cards which is a mild nuisance for spawning upgrades.)

That was weird...it's supposed to link to the DL page, not directly to the 220 DL.

That's doable...current spawn points are a little closely spaced, so maybe I'll spread it out a bit anyway.

(you can always spawn ships last, that's a workaround for now)

The new module looks absolutely great! My favorite thing (other than the real looking ships) is the new range band spectrum. That is so nice!

New version will be out in the not so distant future.

In the meantime you can use an archive application (winzip, 7-zip etc) to add this file to ArmadaModule_-_2.3.0.vmod
