HOLY COW MOOOO

Super Excited for this. I have beaten DK1/2/SOTFS/3 and have a shiny PLAT for Bloodborne, Could not be more excited, though I am sad because there is only 1 more Dark Souls product coming then it is all over. From is moving on..

FROM was ready to move on after Bloodborne, the director made this as a fan service to shut people up after Dark Souls 2.

I'm only on NG+4, but I'm seriously not finding the interest in going all the way to NG+7 like I did in DS1. It looks like the Painted World all over again.

I couldn't play past the original because my laptop sucked.

Got a new one on Wednesday, and now I want to play through II before I do III. Loved the first game, I'm going to play through it this weekend, then start on II, then III.

I really liked the original - hope the sequels are as good or better.

They aren't in all honesty, good but not better. DS1 on it's last patch is still more balanced than every game since, that's why it was more appealing than Demon's Souls in pvp. Dark Souls 2 had a different head, and was rushed so it feels a little empty. Dark Souls 3 updated some things of convenience, like making factions a item and allowing you to change them at will. I don't like how the Darkmoon Blades were handled though, they should have been left as invaders and the Blue Sentinels should have been kept as Defenders.

I'll warn you on DS3, NG is harder than subsequent NG+ runs, it's the opposite of a Demon's Souls/Dark Souls. Once you beat it, the game just gets easier instead of harder. They also retain Demon's Souls refraction for invading phantoms and summoned white phantoms, but summoned black phantoms still get full health.

I am going to give a very different opinion. I have enjoyed the souls series a ton (I did not play demon souls so I cant speak to it) 2 is the best for Story, 1 is great as a starting point, and 3 has the smoothest combat (don't want to give any spoilers as I believe this is the best for enjoying these games on the first go through). I go back to DK2 SOTFS (sol of the first sin ed) and love it for what it did to the plot, the most memorable chars are in 2 with the most weight to the world. Yes the head of Dev was different and really in someways feels like they needed to put something out for the fans and profit but it’s not bad by any means. There are a couple story/NPC things that I feel was amazing when you get to them, By far the firekeeper, a certain Lord, and an NPC with a tri pointed hat made DK2 worth the adventure, you feel there weight and struggle to deal with the world around them. There is a quote from this game which says, For the curse of life, is the curse of want. And so, you peer... Into the fog, in hope of answers." Which I believe is the reason we play DK as a whole, as we look for answers that are not always there. Dark Souls 2 is worth the story but knowing its not the end feels like how Emp Strikes back left things. (as I play these for story I could not ask for more then what was found in 2)

I know I am crazy but 2 is the only I go to for when I want to revisit a souls game because there is so much more there. PS the hardest boss is found in DK2 guarding a small throne.

It took me 64 hours for DS 48 for DS2 and 42 for DS3. However I have completed more playthroughs of 2 and its taken me longer to get through the Extra Content which might not be fair seeing Iron King is a like hitting your head into brick wall backup by steel. Still though all of them are excellent.

I will say 1 did the best layout for any of the games. by far it was the most mem for figuring out how everything is connected. 3 Tried really hard and had some great things with it but just did not have the same feel. 2 feels very video gam-ie for a couple of sections and makes no sense how its connected in parts, A huge miss step.

I have over a thousand hours on two characters and at least 11 playthroughs on DS1. NG+3 for DS2 with various aesthetic+8s, and NG+4 on DS3 with a few hundred hours for both. The story is exactly the same from DS1 to DS3, narrated differently with optional endings that offer more closure than what you're supposed to do. The combat gets faster, not smoother. DS3 spams attacks on you as a imposed artificial difficulty, and it's more of a nuisance than a improvement.

Well, I got up to level 31 this weekend on my play through of Dark Souls. My son had some friends over all day Saturday, and I wasn't able to play much, but I did manage to kill the dragon on the bridge, and a few other notables. Didn't ring any bells though. Mostly grinding. I remember now why I liked the game so much.

I broke down and pre-ordered the season pass over the weekend.

Wait until you go back to Kalameet and Sinh.
