So I've recently picked up the Force & Destiny Core Rules & I'm actually struggling (this may be down to my age & waaayyyy too much quality cider) to comprehend the mechanics for using The Force. Granted, I've only had a cursory read through so far.

The rules talk about Force Talents & Force Powers. However there's only one small section on the talents with not much explanation on how to use them... Are they the upgrades that sit within each Force Power Tree?

There also doesn't seem to be that much explanation on the individual powers & how they can be used. Am I right in thinking that this is all narrative & that it's up to the player to decide what action to take within the context of the Force Power i.e. they could choose to use Move to throw somebody against a wall?

Any help would be very much appreciated

Force Talents are those talents in the Specialisation trees that burst at the top left corner. You can only use them, if your Force Rating is at least one, and they will never work on those immune to the Force.

The green Force Power Trees comprise the Basic Power and Upgrades.

I'd say, you can do anything with the Basic Power that's not specifically granted by an Upgrade. For hurling someone against a wall; that is an actual Control Upgrade.
