Non-Dash YT-2400 help

By K Genesis, in X-Wing Squad Lists

With very little Rebel experience under my belt, I was challenged by a friend to setup a fun list for this weekend to freshen things up a bit. After giving it some thought and deciding to avoid Biggs as much as possible, this is what I came up with:

Eaden Vrill (32):

-

Braylen Stramm (25):

  • R3-A2
  • Vectored Thrusters (2)
  • Gunner (5)
  • Alliance Overhaul (0)

Total: 34 pts

Dutch Vander (23):

  • Twin Laser Turret (6)
  • R5-K6 (2)

Total: 31 pts

97 pts, no bid intended.

Dutch sets up a TL to one of his teammates. He attacks, burns his TL, rolls for another, providing his second teammate with a TL as well.

Braylen double-stresses something, while burning tokens, setting up Eaden.

Eaden goes in with an extra dice and, hopefully, at least a TL on his intended target.

Actually still not set on Dutch, but he was the best I could come up with for synergy while packing a punch.

Also, Eaden's naked. Crew choice is kinda sparse for him, but I'd like something to compliment him.

So, ideas?

Interesting

Would give Eaden either "Intelligence agent" or "Anti-Pursuit lasers"/"Ion projector"

And once Heros of the Reistance and Wave 9 arrive, he absolutely will need "Black Market Slicer Tools"

I am not a fan of Dutch in this build. The list has too much possible triggering mechanics in it that mostly only look good in theory

I just threw this together. See what you think.

Just off the top of my head

Leebo - Dash Rendar, Push The Limit, Mangler Cannon, Engine Upgrade - 52

Shara Bey - R2-D2, C-3PO, Veteran Instincts, Alliance Overhaul - 36

Bandit Squadron Pilot - 12

I'm guessing there should be an Outrider title on Leebo.

Either way, he'd have to carry the squad by himself in this configuration. Not exactly what I'm striving for. Also, not a fan of Shara.

Well, I can fit both Intel and APL/Ion. And it's absolutely better than a naked option.

But I think BMST on him is counter-productive. I want the stress to remain there when I attack, else the entire point of Eaden is moot. Maybe Rigged Cargo?

Not a fan of Dutch here either, like I said, it's the best I can come up with for the leftover points.

While I think Horton's amazing, I'm not sure he's better than Braylen as a stressbot.

And Nera's Nera. Maybe remove Flech Cannon, put Munitions Failsafe for on-demand stress and a Plasma for some punch?

I would probably opt for Determination Leebo over Eaden for general flexibility if you are set on not using Dash.

I was thinking Horton, because he gets a free Predator style re-roll at range 2-3. Which is TLTs effective range. I do like your idea for Nera though.

One ship that's been surprisingly decent for me:

WSF (30)

Tractor Beam (1)
Tactician (2)

33 total points of (albeit expensive) nuisance. The low PS generally negates the agility reduction offered by the TB (you could always fill the list with PS 1-2 for this), but Tactician can add a stress along with repositioning to mess with your opponents ships.

But wouldn't that break the squad? Or, at least, force me into a 2-ship formation?

Yeah, seems a bit wonky.

Wrong price, weird t-beam resolution, questionable crew choice. But, honestly, I could see myself slapping Outrider in it and switching crew, something disrupting, just for the kicks.

I totally see the point and no harm done on the misquote.
