Suppressor Title and MS-1 Ion Cannons

By mathay86, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Hey all, just wondering how everyone else is playing these two cards!

For Suppressor from what I can gather there is no exhaust mechanic for the upgrade title itself meaning you can gain it's effect on every enemy ship that moves into distance 1-3 of your flotilla. Everyone else playing that the same way?

For the MS-1 Ion Cannons I'm fully expecting a blurb in the next F.A.Q unless I've just missed something somewhere, but it just says any one of the defending ships upgrade cards? It doesn't state it has to be an upgrade that is normally exhausted for use. Is everyone else seeing this as exhausting XI-7s, APT, Ordinance and so on? For that matter Admirals? I suspect this will see some kind of wording change to state it has to be an upgrade that would normally be exhausted for use like ECM, or Intel Officer. Any input?

Even if we accept for the moment that you can exhaust any and all upgrade cards (which I guess is a little fuzzy in the rules), because the cards have no requirement that says that you have to exhaust them to use them, they would function as normal.

You are perfectly welcome to exhaust a commander, or XI7, or whatever.

Unless the card requires exhausting, or being readied to work it won't actually do anything.

This is kinda what I was suspecting on the MS-1 the question just came up and I thought I would see what everyone else was thinking on it. How about the Suppressor title?

But there is nothing in the rules that makes an exhausted card NOT WORK...so even if you exhaust my Admiralty...he still works.

Suppressor works on any ship that ends it's move within distance 1-3

Ahah. I didn't notice it worked each and every time an enemy ship ended its activation close by.

Can the Suppressor exhaust an enemy red defence token forcing them to throw it away? Or would that need the verb SPEND to be on the card rather than EXHAUST.

Yeah, that's right. Exhausting something that's exhausted has no further effect. So if they are all red, no luck.
