Looking for opinon on some board games

(...)For the past few years, our weekly boardgame night has grown and now we have an average of four of five couples, so we're very limited in what we can play shy of breaking into two separate tables (which no one wants to do, because the whole point of a boardgame night is to socialize and catchup with one another).

Try Citadels. It gets a lot better with many players.

I'm not even going to read the rest of the posts.

This is about Board Games.

Here are games I would recommend:

Pandemic (base game) - very fun, very fast, and cooperative.

Pandemic Legacy - This takes Pandemic and moves it to awesome and unprecedented levels. There is a reason this game is #1 on BGG. Play this and AVOID ALL SPOILERS. My group loved it so much we bought it again...

Subdivision - another fast paced game. Relatively simple, but with enough complexity to replay again and again.

Fortune and Glory - do you like Pulp Era Indiana Jones style escapades? Then this is the best in the game in the world. Now, I'll be honest. It is not a cheap game... but it is HUGE. Long-ish games.

Battlestar Galactica - the game is a great cooperative & competitive game at the same time. It is good without even having knowledge of the series, but of course knowing the series makes it better. It has three major major expansions. It is ranked 44 on BGG. It is one of my groups 'go to' games. Long game.

Firefly: The Game - in the same theme of games based on TV shows, let me present a game about misbehavin' in the 'verse. Grab your ship, grab some gear, grab a crew, and go for glory. Fun, but long game... not as long as some, but certainly an investment in time.

Touch of Evil - Imagine a game that is sort of like Sleepy Hollow the Board game, only with more monsters. That is this game. You can play competitively or cooperatively to bring down the big monster plaguing a local New England hamlet. Same company that made Fortune and Glory made this, so the quality is top notch and the cards are all fanatically photographed. Fun.

Tokaido - This is a game about competitive meditation... and glorious artwork. It is about traveling along the Tokaido, or the East Sea Road in Japan during the time of the Bakumatsu. Fun, fast, and serene.

Other great games:
Ticket to Ride, Puerto Rico, Agricola, Brass, London, Eclipse, Tribune...

I could go on...

I had totally missed about the size of the group. Most people will agree that 4 or 5 players is the max outside of party games. Other games tend to bog down considerably and should never be played at the highest player count.

If you are looking for a Star Trek IP based game Star Trek: Frontiers is superb.

I know this is X-wing miniatures board, but since this post does relate in some way, and I don't know of any other boards to put this on, I am putting here

So me and some friends have been getting into board games and such recently. We have enjoyed Star Wars X-wing minatures, Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, Bang!, Cards Against Humanity, Uno, and Game of Thrones risk

I have purchased Bang!, Cards against Humanity, and every Empire and Rebel fighter for Star Wars X-wing. I also plan on buying Settlers of Catan and Ticket to Ride.

I was wondering if anyone had any opinons on some other games I was wonderign about and also which version of Ticket to Ride and Settlers of Catan I should buy? (for ticket to ride there is the regular, Europe, and Nordic countries. Just curious which one has more tracks to build)

Here are the other games I was looking at:

Ghostbusters

Superfight

Portal

Exploding Kittens

Carcossne

Halo Risk

Risk 2210 AD

Star Wars Armada

Star Wars Rebellion

Star Trek Attack wing

Fortress America.

Imperial Assault is a lot of fun. I prefer it to Armada honestly.

Adventure Time: Card Wars. Best card game you'll ever play haha.

A set of Scum ships for X-Wing.

The Aliens board game is fun because it's for 1-9 players. A simple rule set controls the Aliens, so you just divide up the characters between everyone.

Hero quest.

If anyone remembers that game from late 80s early 90s

WhT an awesome game that was. Was pretty awesome for its time

Escape the death Star. Another classic from the original trilogy. Released ba k in late 70s early 80s. My young fella likes playing that.

Nobody mentioned Arkham horror. We just picked up two new expansion for that, trying tonight. It's a cool co op game. We are really enjoying that one lately. It has a lot of expansion which I like to have for a game. Takes long before it starts to get old

Armada is great. Rebellion is great. I will also highly recommend Blood Rage (its the game that gets the most play in my gaming group), and also my most recent purchase, Merchants and Marauders, is incredibly fun.
