Will we ever see another type of Interdictor such as a modified ISD with gravity wells?
Will we ever see new Experimental Retrofit upgrades?
What do you guys think?

I suspect that with the release of Corellian Conflict, we will begin to see rules for using Interdictors at the strategic level. If not, I'm sure they'll come into play if FFG puts forth another campaign expansion. The Interdictor has a ton of potential at the strategic level. As to standard game play, that seems to me to be the best place to introduce either another ship card or possible title.
Most likely not. The ISD and Inerdictor had very different functions and the whole inner workings of the Interdictor is designed for the purpose of Gravity Wells. And there is no need to make one either. Even for game purposes why would you do it?
Maybe the Immobilizer 418 is the only other I can think would be likely to add. Don't know everything Star Wars though.

If they do another one, that's the one they should do.
I'd like it if they would, but I doubt they will.
i imagine a campaign expansion would be a suitable vehicle for adding new grav wells, but I doubt a different platform would add anything to the game unless they made the CC-7700 so the rebs can have a grav well generator too, but that thing is uuggggggglllyyyy.
I think you're more likely to see the Rebel version of it (cc-7700) then the second one for the Imperials. Although I don't personally expect anything like that for sometime.
Depends how hell-bent they are in keeping those sorts of things faction specific.
I would prefer that gravity wells stay as an Imperial mechanic and Rebels get [whatever it is in the Phoenix Home] to themselves. Keep the factions more diverse.
That being said, if Rebels get gravity wells, let it be some POS ship they just strapped it on to that can barely run it. Not a durable/respectable platform like the interdictor.
Edited by Church14I'm in agreement with Church. The factions need some things that they call their own. Let the Imps have the interdictor and the Rebs have Phoenix Home.
This one is the Immobilizer-418.
The term "Interdictor" has been used loosely throughout SW canon. In the Rebellion era it might mean a vessel based on the Imperial-class (not this one) or the more correct version based on the Vindicator-class heavy crusier hull.
The good one is a smaller, specialist ship from Zahn. The bigger one is from less certain stock, to my mind.

That would be incorrect.
This One. This Armada One. Is New. Its not an Immobilizer. Its not an ISD Fitted with Grav Wells.
It is a totally new design that was debuted in Star Wars: Rebels, where it was simply given the name "Interdictor Cruiser", and was stated, there, to be a Prototype in Testing... It was stated to be significantly larger than the Immobilizer 418 in the Show Notes, and has a unique design, especially at its Engine Section... It shares a passing resemblance to the 418.. But it is not a 418...
Due to its destruction in Rebels, you could consider this as the New interdictor cruiser that is still going through testing trials, or has been deployed in limited numbers.
But it is not an Immobilizer 418.
Its New.
You may doubt me if you wish, but you cannot doubt those who made it, when they say "Hey, we made it, and its 'x'."...
That does not proclude the inclusing of a 418 at a later time, as they were listed as being Canon in "Tarkin", I believe.
But this is not it.
This is something else.

I'm pretty sure he's retired to Skywalker Ranch these days... ![]()
But as it is - a note - I am Australian, I grew up in Australia - but I'm closer to you now, as I live in Calgary ![]()
I do nothing special. I mean, I am able to Read, and I'm able to comprehend... I don't think thats special... Its not really special information when you have not had the opportunity to read it - awkward assumptions can only be made at that point.
And, let's face it. I'm kind of an arsehole, too... I don't mean to be. But I read, and I comprehend, so I know a bunch. The Know-it-all Shines bright with me.
From the looks of it, the Corellian Campaign only supplies upgrades/cards for waves 1 and 2 (this is based only on the new squadrons included being for all the wave 1 squadrons and wave 2 being out for some time now)
It would make sense to release another campaign after wave 6 that includes goodies for waves 3-6 and a new solar system to liberate from those terrorist rebels. I think thats where we will see a new title for the Interdictor called "Immobilzer"
I would love it if we got Thrawn as an admiral from a Thrawn Campaign box.
Once FFG sees how many campaigns they sell they will suddenly have had plans all along to make more of them lol
I hope so. I found tournamnet style play to be so....sterile.

I really don't like these new sources re-making all of the stuff I thought I "knew".

I had forgotten that Tarkin featured an Immobilizer but that story also takes place several years before Star Wars Rebels so that would make it an older design, which would likely make it's inclusion in to Armada redundant since the newer Interdictor Cruiser does pretty much the same thing, is bigger and better armed.
Assuming the Immobilizer has retained its legends design the Interdictor Cruiser shares more than a passing resemblance with it. Personally, I suspect it's the larger, improved variant of the Immobilizer.

Armada as the base game is at the tactical level. The campaign would put it at the mostly operational level (I assume) with a bunch of tactical games in between and a single strategic goal for each side.
Risk is an example of a game at the operational level, but certain variations also incorporate strategic level thinking to win the game (i.e., meeting certain conditions instead of obliterating all opponents).
Twilight struggle is a strategic level game.
Strategic goals in the campaign would necessitate meeting certain objectives in order to win: tactical operations aim to fulfill operational objectives (move this fleet here in order to cut this line of supply, but you're going to have to obliterate this enemy first), and operational maneuvers aim to fulfill strategic objectives (you need to capture Corellia in order to win, but you're going to have cut this line of supply in order to prevent your opponent from reinforcing). The strategic goal is capturing Corellian. The operational goal supports that's objective by weakening the target, and your tactical success supports your operational goals by making it happen. /end rant
TL;dr (edit)
I said all that just to say that there is a difference between strategy used in battle and strategic warfare. So if the interdictor got special rules in the campaign, it would be elevated from the tactical level to the operational level, not the strategic level. It would, however, change the strategy with which you employ the interdictor.

Indeed. In addition, during Heir to the Jedi, it's mentioned that Immobilizers are no longer in production (though there's still plenty in service) and that the Empire has been creating Star Destroyers with gravity well projectors.
I still think the Empire needs 2 or 3 more Large base models badly. If the rebels get the CC-7700, which appeared in Tarkin as being older then the Immoblizer and the Imps get a large base Interdictor cruiser ior an Interdictor Star Destroyer I would be happy.
