I'll snag Engineer since no one seem's to terribly interested in that. Maybe branch into FE ..... be a mad scientist ......science ......
"Imperial" PbP recruit
I won't be making a GMPC, but I've had a Spy/Slicer concept if anybody is looking for ideas.
The character relies almost entirely on cybernetic implants. If you've ever watched any version of Ghost in the Shell, you should have an idea.
Hi! I'm interested in playing as an Ace - I'll probably go Hotshot, despite my fascination for Beast Riders. More versatility, and I do love the TIE Interceptor.

Perfect chance for someone to play a Gank!
Alrighty then, I'll start making the character tomorrow, or rather this morning, it being 0430 here right now.

I lie and intimidate people into doing whatever I want. Clearly, I -was- the Imperial Loyalty Officer.
How will rank work?
How will rank work?
Rank is what we were under the Empire. It's up to you to decide what you are now.
For the record, though, I outrank you.
It looks like Spy is the only one left. With that in mind, I'm thinking of going a dual Slicer / Mechanic Junky.
Question: If a Specialization is in a different career (Slicer being in both Spy and Technician), could a player start off with that career?
If space is available, I would be willing to take a crack at a Spy. I've not played pure AoR (it's my least favorite line, if I'm honest), but I had recently been thinking of an Imperial game and I do love me some spies...
EDIT: Karrabast! Just beaten out >_< Why am I always so wordy!
Well, sorry, Blackbird, you've picked up a peanut galley. I have to read every thread I have a post in. I'll try my best not to actually post anything else, though.
Edited by Absol197Random thought, but if the Commander is the ship captian, we could totally Red October this.
"Alright crew, we're going on a "secret mission". Yes, the rebels have tie fighters. And star destroyers."

Sorry man.

Just curious, what kind of engineer are you going for? I'm thinking about going the Stark route with Special Modifications.

I would be Scientist, with a focus on Medical and if I do the FE I'd pick up Heal/Harm and have a character who is obsessed with life and death to an unhealthy degree.

Technically we're still in the Empire.

I'm thinking the other side of things, then. I'm talking about modding weapons to shoot farther, more accurate, while armor has all the cool stuff added. Plus, being able to make droids would help be a combat multiplier that our team could really use.
Second question: How much real world influence could we use for our characters?

Actually women.
Beginnings of my character are Commodore. 3 Intelect, Cunning and Presence, possibly Agility too but I'm undecided. 100xp to dive straight down the second column to Fire Discipline then across to Dedication (Presence to 4). 30xp to get the Rousing Oratory base ability (very fitting Hunt for Red October ability!)
My idea is this PC would be an officer in training, or in charge of a particular division (gunnery in this case). With 20 XP to spend I think a second rank in Leadership, Galaxy Mapper and Rapid Reaction.

Sounds like there isn't going to be much overlap between our use of Engineer then. I'll be going science you'll be going math.
I do want to note that while this character will have Medicine (and may have Heal/Harm) he would likely be a poor doctor for the team. His use of Medicine will be more along the lines of a bio engineer, more concerned with theoretical underpinnings behind biological life than the practical and hands on use of medicine that Doctor or Medic do. He's a PhD kinda doctor and not an MD kinda doctor. So if anyone wants to go into Medic you won't encroach much on my characters concept. He was (is) likely in the Imperial Army under their bio research division.
But I will get med pacs and up ranks in Medicine so that I can be a somewhat .... useful in patching people up (outside the possible use of Heal).
Also I call dibs on Major. There is something appealing about the crew whispering about how the Major is not quiet right in the head ![]()
Finally..... I think he'll be from Aldeeran.

If I understand the premise properly we're actually in charge of our own ship. So I don't think you'd be an officer in training so much as you'd be an officer (I think to some extent we'll all be officers unless someone didn't want to be one, such as someone playing a Stormtrooper) and likely part of the command crew. As the one from the Commander career I imagine you'd actually be the ships captain.
*salute*
Edit: Question since Force Emergent is a Universal spec does it still come with the +10 XP cost?
Edited by KaelWell I wasn't going to push it, but I'll be captain if it's ok ![]()
Late jump on this, but if its available still, I would be very happy with a spy.
Well I wasn't going to push it, but I'll be captain if it's ok
Well after all it would be kinda hard to defect with an entire ship (especially one was big as the Kuma) if our PC's weren't the ones in charge of it.
...... I suppose there could be a mutiny later though .......
I've wanted to play an Infiltrator for a while, and seeing as Spy is the only one left, I might be interested.
Count me among the number who would be interested in Spy.
The beginning of my character. Not set in the name, need to fil out gear and background.
He is not the smartest, or most cunning, but sheer Willpower and a charisma few can resist make him a born leader. His ability to learn quickly and an affinity to navigation along with an above average ability to target with ships weapons led to his position of Gunnery officer, from where he grew in recognition and worked his way up the ranks to Commander of his own ship.

Edited by RichardbuxtonCould play a droid Scout. That could be fun.

Sorry, everyone (and Absol on the other page): looks like Sarone picked up on it first. I hate to turn others away, but six is my comfortable limit...

Don't blame you even a little.
