foward firing rebel nonsense

By ficklegreendice, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

hey guys,

been a while. Unfortunately, the local scene's sorta died down. We don't have a lot of table space in the area as it's a big city with very little real estate (we build vertically, not horizontally!) to accommodate our 3 by 6 games in :(

still, new x-wing stuff has me hankering to try out new Armada stuff too. But I've been out of it for so long that I have no **** clue what works.

so, here we are!

just slamming together a list based on what I want to try and what I already like

MC80 Star Cruiser

Intel Officer (over other token defenses to set up Salvation)

Gunnery Team

Medical Team (a "why not?" purchase)

Leading Shots

[115]

Nebulon-B Support

Raymus

Spinal

Salvation

Medical Team (another "why not?")

[75]

Nebulon-B Escort

Fighter Coordination Team

Yavaris

Skilled First Officer (filler)

[65]

GR-75 Medium Transports

Toryn Farr (For the following squadron blob)

Bright Hope

Jan Ors (19)

Yt-1300 (13)

Yt-1300 (13)

B-wing (13)

B-wing (13)

B-wing (13)

probably going with General Rieekan to cover my utter lack of practice and experience with the new ships, for a flat 400 points

never was a fan of bidding

Objectives:

Precision Strike

--> honestly, had the most trouble with the red objective. Most Wanted/Advanced Gunnery turns the MC into an even bigger pinata, Opening Salvo does jack diddly with the GR-75 and will ruin me v cr-90 swarms etc.

Maybe Advanced Gunnery on Salvation...that could be worth a laugh?

Precision Strike seems the safest option, however

Hyperspace (Salvation)

Dangerous Territory (my default blue)

honestly have no idea what the local scene looks like and I am a bit worried that the hefty purchase of the winged MC80 will go unjustified for a while. Considering just purchasing the GR-75 and subbing in two CR-90As with TLRC

Here's the secret, man:

Nebulon-B Escort

Fighter Coordination Team

Yavaris

Skilled First Officer (filler)

[65]

You see that, that's almost perfect. Almost,

What you will want to do, is replace that Skilled First Officer with Flight Commander. Youll have to scrounge an aditional 2 points, but... Its worth solid, solid, solid gold...

With it, you are able to do this as a Shenanigan:

Activate yavaris, reveal Squadron Command.

-DELAY- Squadron Command.

Shoot Yavaris at Nearby Enemy Ship.

Move Yavaris.

Choose 2 Squadrons within Close-Medium of Yavaris.

Move those 2 Squadrons Distance 1. Hopefully, to within Distance 1 of your Enemy Ship. (Or Squadron that really, really needs to die)

Activate Delayed Squadron Command, to have those 2 Squadrons now Shoot Twice each at the Enemy Ship (or Squadron).

I ran almost an Identical list, only I cut out a lot of the Crap, if that makes sense.

I ran my MC80 as a Star Cruiser with the Liberty Title, holding Garm. Nothing Else.

I ran Salvation with Toryn.

I ran Yavaris with FCT and Fighter Commander. Because Above.

I ran the GR-75 with Bright Hope and BCC. again, nothing Else.

Because that let me run 5 B-Wings, 2 YT-1300s and Jan.

well, goodbye medical teams

we didn't need healthy crewmen anyway

also wondering if I should shift spinals onto the MC-80 Liberty

makes it an even bigger target, but idk how Leading Shots compare to Raymus + Salvation

I always like LTRC on salvation, turning that inevitable blank into a critic is far more valuable than an extra red die to blank out on. It also means you can safely use a concentrate fire token to fish for an extra crit or double if all your dice do happen to come up with something usable.

Some people get worried about losing the evade but it's only useful on a small number of shots, so better to drive home reliable damage.
