The Scum and Villainy Invitational: The Lists

By Kdubb, in X-Wing

Figured something out so I was able to change all the usernames on the Challonge page to the team names, so that's something.

We are missing a log for one of the Commonwealth v Aces games. If anyone has that, try to get it posted if you could. Thanks!

dom has it on his computer. We asked him to produce it, we're still waiting T__T.

Rinehart vs Jaren Foss at 9:00PM Tuesday EST.

Managed a couple of games today - great opponents (as usual) and some good early results for Team Commonwealth with 5-0 so far!

Keep it up lads

He played Imperial Rebel.

Couldn't the room be locked with one participant who could stream to the rest of us? Nice if there was an automated way.

Thanks, but now I need to know if that is Joe or Frans as their handles aren't in the predictions page (which I'm updating with actual records as they are reported). I'm sure we'll figure it out either way.

Sorry - That was some poor reporting by me!

2 great games today:

First was a Team Commonwealth win, 100-0 vs Joe (Imperial Rebel) from Mynocks

Second was a Team Commonwealth win, 100-0 vs Jeff (Theorist) from S&V

Definitely feeling good about my Commonwealth pick to win!

I had predicted Theorist with IG-88B & Moralo to beat your Han Solo & Jake. So good flying!

Amazing that Han Solo wasn't even hit to half health. You must have done lots of crazy arc dodging.

I just watched the game.

It was flown very well by both players. Morgan didn't make any mistakes and Theorist perhaps made one or two. It goes to show that X-wing is a game of skill, because the better flying was rewarded with the victory ;)

Having said that, I think Solo was incredibly lucky to survive at 7 hull. It seemed EVERY time he got hit by an HLC, it ended up being 1 damage going through. The IG gunner effects did not proc once all game and that was mainly due to dice luck. Although there were one or two opportunities for Morgan to make a mistake with his choices, and then a gunner could've come into play, and there was one time Theorist used predator to get 1 hit on 4 dice when he probably would've been better off just using gunner, but these were relatively minor and probably would not have changed the outcome.

I'll be playing JChav on Monday morning (8-9amish eastern).

Thank you for the kind words Blade and it was a great game to play in - Games against Jeff are always a positional arm wrestle and this was no exception.

It is interesting your comment about lucky Han though - as I think he should actually only ever be taking 1 or 2 damage from a HLC every time. With 3P0+Evade the HLC needs to roll 4 hits and usually against Han the roll is 2-3 considering Han+Luke normally strips the offensive Focus.

So with that, 3P0+Evade can mitigate 2 (if HLC rolls 3) and usually ends up taking 1 (if HLC rolls 2).

Having said that - Han needed to ensure only 1 HLC was shooting at him at a time or else he would have been toast!

Did you guys ever get your game sorted? That looked like a very interesting ending!

Ok, I beat JChav, but I have no idea if I reported it correctly.

It was 100-0 (go Gonk regen!).

That game had some really odd vassal error that is going to keep it from being logged unfortunately. :(

Nice!

And I got it fixed for ya. When reporting the scores, go ahead and still put in the points destroyed. Once a 2nd set is put in, then it will show the number of sets won versus set losses. Until then, it will just show the points destroyed of the game that was played.

Also, just a general note: If players could make sure to include the name/username of both themselves and their opponent in the title of the file, that will make it a tad easier for spectators to find the log they are looking for when watching games.

Thanks guys!

Looked like one of the Foss brothers beat Ryan Farmer, too? Only saw the board after the game ended.

Yep. The log should be up on Challonge now for that one. Things are looking really good for Commonwealth.

Update the results on the prediction tracker again, though my results are reading a bit differently than the Challonge page.

I know this is about the players and the novelty of the tourney first and foremost, but when the games are said and done it would be nice to see who predicted the results the best. I have ready forgot who I voted for in many match ups.
