Looking back and seeing that we didn't even use our 7th or 8th pick. YIKES!
I'm pretty happy that we got Keyan for my list, it should be fun, but he didn't go until round 25 !

It's so easy to look at ships like Keyan and reflexively think about what he's not good against, and then forget about the huge area of the field that he is great against.
I thought it would be interesting to have a measure of how good the squads are "supposed" to be in relation to each-other based on the draft order of pilots used in each squad.
To do this, I calculated the average draft order of all ships in a given player's squad (Theorist's IG-88B = 1, Starslinger72's Sigma Squadron Pilot = 179). That calculation is the Raw Pick Average in the table below.
I thought this number might be thrown off by a late picked filler ship rounding out a squad, so I also calculated a weighted average. Weights for each ship were determined by the total squad points spent on that ship (base cost + upgrades).
All numbers are rounded for readability.
Example:
Player Pilot Overall Pick Full Cost Weight Weighted Pick
Assortedneedles Lothal Rebel 26 40 1.2 31.2
Miranda Doni 14 35 1.05 14.7
Tarn Mison 83 27 0.81 67.23
Raw Pick Average 41 Weighted Pick Average 38
Here's the result:

Beautiful Transmogrifier.
It seems wild to me that Rook/Nova has 5 of their 6 lists in the bottom half there. Paul did an incredible job getting value out of those later picks.
Gotta love Starslinger as that outlier with a RPA 17 spots lower than the closest player.
You should include average ship count too. We have a lot of TLTs so because be generally have more more ships, our average draft position is later. Although my Round 25 Fat Keyan is helping there as well.
Would someone link the Challonge bracket so we can make official predictions.
Yeah, I'm not saying it's an accurate assessment of how good each list actually is, but just a (flawed) measure of how the lists rank based on the conventional wisdom that better ships would be picked sooner and lists with a greater proportion of more desirable pilots *should* be better. I think you guys have put together a solid set of lists by making good use of 'overlooked' ships and I think that will be reflected in the performance of those lists in relation the expectation laid out here. Likewise, simply putting desirable ships in a list together doesn't necessarily make a list good and this measure would overrate such lists.

It doesn't exist yet.

Waiting for a couple more teams to accept invites. We may need to change some things as well, as the "teams" format looks like it may not work out exactly as we had hoped on Challonge.
oh yeah? bummer. let me know if I can help there.
It appears individual match-ups won't be seen on Challonge, only teams vs. teams. This means individual match-ups need to be constructed manually somewhere in order for people to predict the outcome.
Veldrin & Myself will be playing Sunday Sept 4th at 6am MST (2pm CET).
Edited by DanathVeldrin and I will be playing Wednesday August 31st at 3pm EST (9pm CET)
While we are waiting for a response from a Challonge rep, I went ahead and put this together.
Scum & Villainy Invitational Predictions
A little more difficult to track individual results (although I can with entrants inputting their name), but if we can't get anything better, it should suffice.
Enjoy voting!

Awesome! Working on it now!
The David Side, being a fellow Lothal Runnner , has to have my vote. I believe in you, Dave!
10 submissions so far. Every team has at least one person believing they will win...
Oh, wait. Nevermind. No voters for Mynock.
Where you at Mynock crew??? It's almost like no one has faith they will even get their games in...

Scum & Villainy Invitational Predictions
Scum & Villainy by far got the most fortuitous matchups.
I still say Rook & Nova wins gold, but it will be neck & neck with S&V.
Team Aces & Team Mynock seem likely for 3rd and 4th. Perhaps Aces ahead of Mynock, but that matchup is very close.
Wes, Keyan, and Biggs reporting for duty and ready to rock the wave 3 meta! *
Just give me something that I can actually point my guns at, and I'm good to go! Rawr.
* Some post wave 3 upgrades may have been smuggled in
MJ of all the lists this was probably the one I was most excited to see. I nearly took the exact list to Regionals after having really good success with it on Vassal, but I started doubting my piloting skills with Biggs and ended up going with another list. I am crossing my fingers for the list to perform admirably and get players thinking about 5 dice full mod Keyan again haha!
I took it out for a spin last night for a vassal league matchup vs Double Scouts and Party Bus and won 100-0. ProTip: Deadeye Scouts don't like getting their focus ganked! Maybe I'll get super lucky and get matched up vs Travis Foss's dual Torp boat list.

Smack talk is something Australians were born to, molded by. Good.....GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD as Palpatine says.
If I could play against everything with my torp boats I would!
Maybe we can organise a Beef game! As Mynocks would say
First Blood to Team Commonwealth!
I defeated Darth Dane 100-36 as we ran into each other a bit early on Vassal and decided to go at it.

Cool! Voting is now closed as games have began!
now that voting is closed is there a way to see the predictions?
