Making EM unique just screws TIE Bombers and TIE Punishers though, and they're not exactly lighting up the meta right now.

So, the Corusant Open showed an alternate format, where you could shackle underperforming ships to everyones lists to mix up the meta. The results were interesting, and I look foreward to seeing more of the same.

Without palpatine, Palpaces is just Imperial aces. But by the same tokeen, without Contracted Scouts, Dengaru is intact but triple uboats is dead, reviving all the rebel lists that prey on imperial aces. And without biggs, rebels lose much of their anti-alpha they no longer need against the vanished torpscouts, reducing pressure on post-vets Tie Bombers.

Crackswarm (imperial and rebel) are intact,

Rebel regen rises from the ashes

Thug life?

Dash ghost?

What other lists would be good lin a meta with no palp, no biggs, and no contracted scout, but all other tools of Wave 8 and Wave 9 intact?

GG pretty much any swarms, too. Way to nuke all generics forever No BBBBZ, no rookie x wing squadrons, no green squadrons swarms... etc. No more than one T65 because no integrated astromechs and no generic R2 units...

Not remotely. The scout would still see a LOT of value as the bumpmaster build, and you can still do Deadeye torpedo u-boats with Mana and Tel. It means you don't get a full wave of 4 torpedoes WHAT? HOW? in round one guaranteed, but the Scouts can still fairly reliably shoot them off later in the game using TLs, and they have the toughness to weather a round of shooting. They just have to actually fly properly and get specific tagrets in arc. You know, play the game.

TLT y-wings will still get PWNed by torp scouts just as hard unless they go up to PS4, at which point you can only afford three of them and they're nowhere near as good.

Palp and the Scout are the two most meta-warping cards in the game right now. Kill them, you open up a LOT more meta space at high levels. Rebel regen is nasty but it has counters - not to mention that giving rebels back an actually-viable build other than Dash/Ghost would be lovely.

The ban list needs to rotate. This tourney Jumpmaster and VI are banned. The next one Palp and Zuckess are banned. The one after that Biggs, etc etc. There would be a constantly changing meta. So what you take to the store championship is different than what you take to regional or worlds.

Yes. One of the most successful Palp/Aces variants in recent years doesn't use the Baron at all (Palp/OL/Inq/Wampa)...

As long as you can get ships that get focus/evade every turn on 3 green dice, Palp will always be that bad.

PTL is very strong too, don't get me wrong. But some ships are just... not very usable without it. High PS A wings and Squints in particular - not just Soontir. Not to mention Dash.

On second thought, I flew against PS10 Wes and was mildly perturbed when he shot before Whisper and took Echo's tokens (Like wtf did I take rec-spec for, lamesauce). I mean, if it's beating my favourite ship it must be stale and unoriginal and detrimental to the game. The solution must be to ban Phantoms so I don't get butt hurt when I lose with them.

You know, if you take Palpatine out of the game that fixes scouts also. Now you can run 4 PS 4 Bombers without fear and annihilate a U-Boat before it fires in a hail of Homing Missiles.

If you made Palp epic only, and if Tarkin then lost his huge ship only restriction, you could run Tarkin Aces and strip a focus token off of a U-Boat within range 1-4.

They'd probably do it as a restricted list where you pay extra points for certain cards.

Biggs doesnt care that his ship is crappy. his ability is so good that he keeps Rebels from being able to have nice things, because nice things + biggs = NPE

I would not ban but say do something like the Android Netrunner Most wanted list. Only instead of just adding a point to the cost of certain upgrades and pilots add a point cost to certain pilot/upgrade combos. As for the pilots that work great with no upgrades add 1 point unless they equip an upgrade.

Secondary weapons: TLT, HLC, proton torpedoes, prockets, cluster missiles, homing missiles

EPT: Push the limits, predator, juke, lone wolf, deadeye, crack shot, veteran instincts
