Having done a ton of reading I came across someone (sorry I can't recall the name) who suggested to take "Omega Squadron" in a game ... so here is my version of Omega Squadron.

Omega Leader - Juke/Relay - I also added a shield upgrade (that's legal, right?)

4 Omega Pilots with two of them having wired

I did the math earlier and it works out to exactly 100 points - provided of course I can put the shield upgrade on Omega Leader. I'm pretty sure I read that right, right?

Anyway, having played a limited few games it's clear to me that the TIE fighter squadron is the way I like to go. I don't want the large ships with the turrets or the aces, I want to overwhelm my opponent with numbers. Plus ... I like the TIE fighter in general.

I'm pretty set on this as I've won my games so far and more importantly I find this many ships more fun. With that said I'd like to consider how to expand to 150 or even 200 and here is where I'm open to bigger/better.

I've considered just waiting for Epsilon shuttle and new TIE fighter to be released but I've also considered the Phantom or getting Vader in on this, possibly even the inquisitor. Too many choices! I even considered getting another Omega Leader into my list with Swarm Tactics, that would be pretty cool.

So to the questions:

Is my list pure fun and I'm just wrecking face because my nephew sucks or is this a pretty decent list? (100 pt list that is)

How would you expand the 100 point list to 150?

Considering what you have seem to have available it's a decent list. Mostly swarms work best the more ties you can get involved! I would suggest the Tieln expansion for howlrunner! He is the best add to any swarm, gives all your ties a reroll. Also, yes shield upgrade is perfectly legal.

Something like this would be a good upgrade to your plan imho

Out of curiosity, what is you nephew running against it??? That would help determine if he is just running a very week list against this or if you are out flying him. Sounds like maybe your nephew is the one that needs some help. Hate for him to get discouraged cuz his uncle relentless destroys him glad you are enjoying it!!

So that's our combined sets to this point and I pretty much called Imps right off the bat. No interest in playing as anyone else. That leaves him with Rebs and Scum, which is the same thing to me.

I do like Howlrunner, she's the reason I started liking the swarms to begin with.

Fair enough but I wanted to stay away from the meta lists. If I dropped Palp Aces on my nephew while we are trying to learn the game I think he'd quit real fast.

If you are willing to let him proxy, put R5-P9 on Poe, have him take Miranda in a Kwing and slide R2-D2 on another t-65 or t-70 and he should be able to make it close with the ability to Regen a few hits

If you can proxy, that first list is pretty fine with a few tweaks. Drop wired and shield. Add crackshot to all omegas.

Thanks for the answer on Omega Leader, still kind of fuzzy regarding unique pilots. I know, it's sad. Totally horrible question, how do I know? I mean I know Wedge is a person, Poe is a person but Omega Leader? I am so sorry for that question, is there something on the pilot card I should be looking for?

I had thought about crackshot but I was working with what I have and I don't have crackshot.

I can buy this stuff but I'm looking for something sleek and efficient. I view a full first order list as such ... I only ran Tzeentch for WFB (even after the update) so ... FO I think is what I'll stick to for x wing. Although the Inquisitor is so freaking tempting ...

Do I need to ebay cards?

The unique pilots/upgrades/etc are marked with a dot at the beggining of the name... ie " · Soontir Fel"

Also, remember that the dot before the name is absolute, even across card types.

So, there is a "(dot) Darth Vader" pilot card for the Tie Advanced. There is also a "(dot) Darth Vader" crew card that comes with the Lambda-class Shuttle. Both have the same name, so you can't use both in the same list.
