Help deciding between two very different lists for a tournament

By Hhraath, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hello,

I have been playing X-Wing since the start of the year and am finally going to enter my first public tournament. I'd love your advice on choosing between two very different lists. Which do you feel would be more effective? I like playing both.

I like the first list. Lots of hp and a little something for everyone. However Latts may not hit hard enough. I would drop Weapons engineer and feedback for Gunner on Latts. Gives a nice double tap to strip tokens before your scout and ywing attack (where Latts ability really comes in handy, naked greens!). Add Bossk crew to latts by dropping Boba crew and Unhinged on TLT.

Latts Razzi (43) YV-666 (33), Gunner (5), Dengar (3), Bossk (2)

Contracted Scout (33) JumpMaster 5000 (25), Extra Munitions (2), Proton Torpedoes (4), Overclocked R4 (1), Deadeye (1), Guidance Chips (0)

Syndicate Thug (24) Y-Wing (18), Twin Laser Turret (6)

Latts gets a double tap, with dengar modding both attacks = good chance to strip tokens. Missing the first attack, kicks in Bossk who gives latts a focus and a TL (to be used for your other ships attacking after Latts). You dont need to clear stress with Latts aka 3 hard turns are open, since gunner/bossk triggers his TL. So he either does damage or else strips tokens and gets a TL for his wingmates. Dengar crew also works to trigger gunner. If you roll one hit with Latts, reroll it with dengar to try and miss :P

Thanks for the great list ideas! I never thought of using Gunner to strip tokens. Great idea! I will have to try it out. :)

So, you don't think it is as useful to combine Weapons Engineer with Latts to get -1 agility for two of my ships attacks? Also, I do feel I would miss Unhinged on my Y. That thing doesn't turn to well and I have found myself using hard 3s to keep up with baddies. Oh, and for context, I had Feedback on Latts to guard her hind quarters.

Problem with weapons engineer is it TLs two different ships, which means you would have to split your attacks (not a good thing). The TLT and the scout will be covering Latts backside. And if Latts is your last ship vs an agile ace, feedback won't save you. Gotta think about all those token stacked ships and stripping them down to get damage through. Latts will have a double attack, TLT is a double attack, and scout has his torps, plus hopefully Latts ability taking a dice away. Plus, with TLT, Scout PWT, and Latts wide arc, you should be able to triple attack just about any ship you want. Ive only ever flown Latts with Gunner Bossk, then either K4 or Dengar. He is very punchy and gets his ability off if he is blocked, lands on debris, etc.

They're both fine, neither is going to blow up the meta but both should perform OK. The Imperial one is probably slightly the better of the two. Play the one you enjoy playing most, and are best at flying, in that order of priority.
