How do you store cards?

By UCLAJediKnight, in X-Wing

It's funny to see people at different stages of the very same journey (!).

Zip-lock baggies that come with packs -> bigger baggies (rubber-band optional) -> small storage boxes -> larger storage boxes -> carrying cases that hold all your storage boxes.

Then when it comes to the mini's (and play-surfaces), the further steps of:

"off the shelf" display cabinets/tables -> custom-built furniture -> home renovations(!)

I want to go the binder route at some point, but for now, cards are organized with the ziplock baggies, and put into those boxes you get with magic card fat packs.

The sad things is the FLGS has a lot of magic players that get really talkative when they see me using these, until I show them what's inside.

Sounds like you need to customize your boxes with appropriate Star Wars iconography!

Or FFG should sell boxes that are Star Wars themed! Hmmm...maybe there already is a company out there doing it???

Fat Pack boxes are super nice. They're startlingly sturdy and usually have great key art. I actually use a couple of my spares to carry X-Wing stuff as well. With a couple of trimmed foam inserts and a bit of heavy cardstock you can carry everything I need for a full (small based*) squadron except for movement and range templates.

*Depending on the ship, you could probably get a large base or two in there as well.

Saw a fella at the shop yesterday who had gone and made himself a bunch of fold up card boxes to store ships. Little wee cardstock boxes, and he had them for his damage deck too. Looked very nice and kept all the ships well protected.

The guy who made the tuck boxes has some PDFs for them. Free for download.
