RtH Rebel Battle Journal

By JarJarBot, in Imperial Assault Campaign

This is a little battle journal for the RtH campaign, Rebel side. Let me start by saying this is the third campaign we've played in my shop and out of the past two (i imperialed the twin shadow one) the rebels have won one mission....in the core campaign...that's just how great we are! But we're about to change that! We've definitely grown skill wise and are here to prove it!

Group;

Fenn, Diala, Jyn annnnnnnd MHD (because our imperial player painted him and said no one would ever use him, hah!)

I control Fenn and Diala while two of my friends control MDH and Jyn.

Imperial player is using the hoth deck that gives the attachment reroll as its first card.

1st story mission of RtH!

(P.S. We just played this last night but I just had this idea this morning, so, no big details because I didn't write anything down but I remember a good amount of what went on)

Turn 1:

Echo Base Troopers started in back with MHD and Jyn directly in front of them and Diala and Fenn in front of them with Fenn on the side closes to the terminals.

First activation goes to Fenn who strains for 2 movement points to end up next to 2 terminals. I activate one and throw a 3 against an officer. I then confirm that I can activate multiple terminals and do so, killing the other officer in the process. A great start to our first mission!

The imperials activate, sending a probe droid in to an exposed Fenn but only dealing 2 damage.

The rest of the round is a little fuzzy but at the end our imperial player is down to 2 snowtroopers and 1 probe droid.

All our figures are grouped up together near terminals; Diala, Echo Trooper and Fenn up front with the rest of us behind. Tank deploys directly in front of us on the other side of the "river." Great...

Turn 2:

First, MHD moves out of the group so he won't take any blast damage moving closer to one of the imperial tokens we need to flip.

Tank activates double tapping the echo base trooper in the middle front of the group. First attack leaves him with one health with a blast damage to everyone but second attack is pure damage, killing the trooper but no more blast for everyone.

Jyn activates and moves towards MHD attacking a probe droid and quick drawing after to kill it.

Between 2 attacks from Fenn, 1 from Diala and 1 from echo trooper this turn, then Fenn activating next turn, the tank goes down without having another activation.

The heroes end up splitting up,one going to each imperial token, when Dengar shows. We end up flipping the four tokens right before turn 5 (6? Before we couldn't rest to heal) with only Jyn wounded.

Round Heater Blown to final round

Imperial player can't gain threat having 6 threat left to use. He brought a probe droid back twice and in the end the last two terminals helped finish Dengar, everyone was wounded but MHD (he only had 2 damage on him) and he made the killing shot on the last probe.

We won! The tides are turning!

MHD ended up pulling 2 emergency medpacks out of the supply deck that were pretty crucial to our survival.

Everyone bought a 1xp card (Force Adept, Smugglers Luck, Improper Procedure, and Fenns 2 movement point card, forget the name)

Picked up a vibrosword for Diala and have 700 creds saved up (win, all crates grabbed, one crate was the extra 100 creds)

Next up is the infiltrator side mission we picked. We play Monday nights so next update around then!

UPDATE: Imperial player just read about threat missions (boon/bane) so next mission may change.

Good work.

(psst, it's MHD)

Thanks for catching that I'm now realizing my phone is autocorrecting it for some reason, hahah. Little update here, too. The imperial player just learned about the threat missions so he's going to look at those and throw them in for us to chose from so next mission may change.

Survival of the Fittesti believe is the next mission now. Going to be played tomorrow night, wish us luck!

Fun read, keep them coming!

Wow, is all I have to say.

We only had time for one mission tonight so White Noise will be next! (May not make it to that one but I'll see if my friend can fill us in.

So I'll start with placement; one echo base trooper at each starting area and then Jyn and Diala on the Wampa side with MHD and Fenn on the probe droid side.

First train of thought was to stun the Wampa so we didn't have to worry about it for the turn. Easy enough right? Welllllll, it took two attacks from Diala who strained twice to get into reach range (so 3 strain first turn cause of the bane card). It left the Wampa stunned with 2 damage. Let me tell you, right off the bat, the imperial player was already rolling ridiculously defense wise and it lasted the game.

He sent his probe droid out to damage one of our troopers while we ended up killing it with an echo trooper and Fenn. The other trooper ended up moving all the way over to revealing the cave we needed to find...then we never recovered.

I'll just get into the bare bones of it cause nothing good happened. Eventually he spawned in a Nexu, Stormtroopers with the reroll attachment, an officer, snow troopers, elite probe droid plus the elite Wampa with plus health. Jyn and Diala got boxed in by the Nexu (who kept throwing x men and the block surge cancel) and the Wampa (who kept throwing 2-3 blocks) Fenn was almost wounded and MHD was not accomplishing much. We ended up calling it on round 5.

We got destroyed, dice were definitely on the imperial players side, too.

We banked the 1 xp and Jyn got the Tac Display plus the DL-44 so she's much better equipped. We got nailed hard this mission though.

White Noise is next and hopefully we redeem ourselves!
