Can L5R be the LCG that introduces a common sense Core Set?

By player662012, in Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game

seems like "core set only" alliance cards would be a way to include 6-8 clans in the core set with no problem.
possibly even using a story driven reason for mixing clans.

Talking about changing old habits. What's a first expansion for Arkham Horror LCG? Not silly monthly "chapters" but just 30$ deluxe!

Why is this discussed here instead of the AH LCG forum?

In any case, this appears to be the same distribution format they've followed for many of their Lord of the Rings LCG -- you start the six-month expansion with the big set, which gives most of the thematic cards which will be used throughout the six months, and then the six normal small pack expansions build from that.

Because it gives him something else to piss and moan about.

Well, beyond the obvious, of course. Expecting honest discussion from Kempy is a sucker's game. Still, it's good to remind other posters about the other forums.

A "deluxe" that is the basis for the initial cycle of chapters. AH is like the Lord of the Rings LCG, a scenario-based collaborative game, unlike what most of us expect nL5R to be, and the initial deluxe sets the characters and the campaigns. Not that I'd be adverse to a scenario-based game based on Rokugan, in addition to L5R, mind you.

Yeah, that was pointed to me earlier and also discovered this fact after posting.

But i'd be more than happy if they start some kind of clan deluxes together with Core Sets.

My guess would be deluxe packs would be handled a bit like netrunner.

If you remember the storylines years ago which pitted two clans against eachother, scorp-unicorn, phoenix-dragon etc. Id Imagine youd have something like in netrunner. "Honor and Profit" being jinteki and criminal. There will imo likely be 2-3 clans per deluxe like this - based solely on the fact that there are a large amount of clans that they would need to get through.

I think if ffg have learned anything from GOT 2nd ed. Releasing packs like wolves of the north which is focused very heavily toward one faction can really distort the meta very quickly in a negative way.
