A couple of suggestions for the game (small spoilers)

By Drakthal, in Mansions of Madness

Hi everyone. After playing quite a few times i thought about some things, that i think would make the game even better. (Love it already)

1. Character Specific Mythos Events

In my groups Descent campaign in Road to Legend we had a travel event where we could do something special because we had a specific character in our group. This was probably the coolest thing that have happened so far in the campaign because it really gave a small nice story simply because we had that character. I think it would be awesome if FFG added that in the Mythos event, so that sometimes an event might come up that gives a small narrative because a certain character is used in the current mission.

2. Epilogue when ending game because of insane card

I normally hate traitor mechanics but in this game the insane condition is in my opinion amazing (except for the mute player card which i have already taken out of the deck) and i hope they will add more as time goes by. However when someone prematurely ends the game because of one of the real traitor mechanics, it feels a bit anticlimactic because you just end the game without any outtro. Would be nice if you when you click end game, would be able to pick between the insane conditions that can end the game. And then an epilogue plays because of that. Could easily be done so each insane condition gives a specific outtro that fits any scenario.

As far as i can remember only 2 would be needed with the current insane conditions.

3. Extra Cycle of Eternity Epilogue

If the players kill William Vanderbilt in the first scenario, without the portal opening, the epilogue about escaping to be able to frame the Vanderbilts seems a bit odd. Which Vanderbilts? They are dead! Therefore another epilogue for that scenario would be nice.

Very good points. I also thought about your outro for insane conditions, and I agree heavily. Once, I managed to perform a victory by ....

dragging Carolyn Fern away from the portal in the end of the Cycle of Eternity, breaking a whiskey bottle, and sacrificing her to the all-mother Shub-Niggurath!

It felt epic (for me) but because there was no outro, it really just felt like a tableflip moment to the players as a whole. We were so close to winning normally and I found myself sort of giving them reason to suspect me intentionally because I didn't want to see them just end their turn and I win with no way for them to stop me and not even a proper ending to the story.

I love that I literally had to shove Carolyn away from the portal (as both my teammates were trying to solve the final puzzle which had them on the same space), but in another situation, it could easily have ended with very little strategy on my part or struggle on theirs.

Yes we got the same condition and in our scenario it ended a long really cool Escape from Innsmouth scenario by simply having a person gain it while he was standing next to another character with a dagger. The pyromaniac is even worse in Escape from Innsmouth unless they make an epilogue for it.
