Red Jukes

By tau4298, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hello guy's I don't have time to play test this list for a tournament (on a business trip) so I would like your critique's on this list.

x3 T-70 Red Squadron Veteran

- Juke

- Comm Relay

- Targeting Astromech

- Integrated Astromech

Total- 99 points

Probably not the best. X-wings don't have Evade actions so there is no way for them to use Juke or fill their Comms Relays.

Ditch the Comms relays and replace with Autothrusters for improved defense and use the extra point each to upgrade the EPT to Predator.

x3 T-70 Red Squadron Veteran

- Predator

- Targeting Astromech

- Autothrusters

Total- 99 points

Now you can call them Red Preds! :D

I feel your pain. If you're dead set on T-70s with Juke, however, look into the Red Squadron Vets with R3 Astromech.

>> Disclaimer: Not competitive in the current meta <<

T-70 X-Wing: "R3d" Squadron Veteran (26)
Juke (2)
R3 Astromech (2)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Comm Relay (3)
The other T-70 that can get evades (but no EPT) is Red Ace, the foil of Quickdraw:
T-70 X-Wing: "Red Ace"
R2-D2 (4)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Comm Relay (3)

I've seen this idea proposed like 11 times, but for the life of me I can't figure out why.

What's so intriguing about putting Juke on the T-70? You have to jump through so many hoops to make it functional. Just use Predator and be satisfied with more accurate dice, even on the turns when you K-Turn or T-Roll.

Maybe someday there'll be an astromech which adds evade to the action bar (thanks for nothing, R3), but not today, fellas.

If you want to fly Red Squadron X-Wings, try this out:

Red Squadron Veteran (26)
Predator (3)
R4-D6 (1)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Red Squadron Veteran (26)
Predator (3)
BB-8 (2)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Red Squadron Pilot (23)
R3-A2 (2)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Tala Squadron Pilot (13)
XX-23 S-Thread Tracers (1)
Guidance Chips (0)
Total: 100
This list has some accurate Red Vets, one of whom can be extra durable and one of whom can do tricky barrel rolls for increase blocking area. The Red T-65 will act as your Biggs, because his ability to shoot stress will make the enemy gun for him first. If you're super lucky, maybe you can catch Soontir or Inquisitor in a super wide arc and then set them up for the rest of your team. The Tala Squadron has the same PS as your Red Squad guys and a very similar dial, so he should be able to stick with the team and maybe contribute, either as low damage or as a blocker.
It's not the best list ever, but it's not horrible. If I were in the market for generic X-Wings, I might fly this one.
Good luck, have fun.

Haha I think it's the whole "The Imperials have it so I want it, too!"

Not to get too far off-topic but Rebels are also running out of list options. Really.

The ARC-170 seems exhausted already (and, surprise, made no splash) and Sabine's Tie is a joke (and not available for another 6 months).

HotR is bringing what seems to be some life into the X-Wings so I really think people are mentally preparing for that by theory-crafting with the T-70.

Wishful thinking.

"Red Juke" makes me think of the sexy Imp Vets defender x7 w/juke

13576766_10157059295495142_6030151698298

which also makes me wonder why anyone would bother with juke T-70s

not that the T-70 is bad, necessarily, but more that you're paying 33 points of a horrible, situational build what you could just get basically objectively better in every respect over in the empire for 1 measly point more

I don't think there's a less efficient, more roundabout way to run T-70s than as r3 relay jukes. everything CB suggested is far more effective/easier to make work, as are crackshot + Targeting Astro + integrated

Well it sound good in my head, but forgot to think on the fact it doesn't have evade. But tie/fo's are indeed awesome so I could see the wishful thinking on the people's part lol.

I'll try this list out so thanks for the input you guy's.

If you really want Comm Relay/juke T-70s I've found the best way is have something with Jan thrown in there (Kyle HWK-290, K-wing, or B-wing/e2)
