It depends how serious you want to be. A bit of yellow mixed in the white can be a good way. Then highlight with white. I probably shade with a gray as well
Sepia glaze can work over white as well. Then a bit of darker glaze/ controlled wash for the shades. Then just highlife with white agen
Edited by ZentradiI used a white base coat, then mixed up some screaming skull/white for the coat, some ushabti/white for the bodysuit, her boots were the next shade up from Administratum; Thinned agrax as a selective wash, thinned nuln for the boots, then built up with the original mix. Seems to be the Sorastro stratagem for painting.
The gun was the usual mechanicus/black with ledbelcher dry brush and nuln wash and touches of steel for 'pop'.
I can't seem to put a picture up to show. But she turned out OK.
You could lighten down some Vallejo Game Color Bone White for the body warmer. It has a lovely yellow/brown tint to it, and mixed 50:50 with Ivory or White would give look you are seeking, IMO. Personally, I would base that part (and boots i believe) with Bone White and gradually lighten the quilted sections up, leaving the Bone White in the recesses.
I mixed some Screaming Skull with some White. Did a perfect job for me.
I used this reference photo:
This is how mine turned out:
i used rakath flesh as the off white colour and that works really well
I hand mixed all the colors here from the following paints:
Citadel:
-Flash Gitz Yellow
-Mephiston Red
-Abbadon Black
Army Painter:
-Matt White
-Barbarian Flesh
Vallejo:
-70.846 Mahogany Brown
-70.963 Medium Blue
-72.050 Cold Grey
I also used a black ink wash and a flesh shade ink wash.
My paint job looks a lot better when you realize that the picture at its native resolution shows Leia at about six times the size of the actual mini.
