It's a glass cannon squad for sure, but it hits like a truck if it works. Tempests move and focus, then Jonus and Howlrunner give them locks via Systems Officer and Squad Leader respectively (as their target(s) might not yet be in range when they move). Tempests hopefully live long enough to shoot, then fire their homing missiles, triggering ATC and getting rerolls anyway from Jonus. This in the end amounts to a pair of 4-dice attacks with 2 rerolls, a change of anything to a hit, a focus, an extra crit result, and no evade from the defender. It should blow anything short of a Decimator or Ghost off the board. Howlrunner makes them a bit more useful after the initial joust. I seriously doubt this is competitive, but it seemed fun enough to mention.

A couple things here:

1. Secondary attacks don't trigger ATC

2. Homing Missiles don't require you to spend the TL so Jonus is kinda redundant in that regard and he's really just a point sink.

The typical tempest alpha is 4x tempest with clusters, and title with accuracy corrector. After the alpha accuracy corrector puts them at peak damage after the alpha. If you're only looking to use two of them you could keep them as is with Howlrunner kicking around but a different bomber might be in order.
