By Zarasu, in Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game

Samurai of Rokugan,

The Magnificent Emperor lives! Emperor Iweko II resides now in Shiro Mirumoto with the Dragon Clan and has called on his servants to join him for court this Winter. Invitations should be making their way shortly to those deemed worthy of the duty of representing their Clan this year. The Divine Son understands the Empire’s drastic circumstance and is prepared to accept the petitions of those your Champions have deemed worthy.

Carry the Fortunes,

Miya Kiyokaizu
Imperial Herald

Here.

By the way, I have a question: in the third test scenario (Scorpion sekret letter), what is Bayushi Kambei? Is he a bushi or something else? I think this piece of info should be added, because it feels rather important regarding the contents of the letter.

The link is fixed.

Assume you're in whatever occupation is necessary to get the job done. ;)

Just a quick bump for all the RPG fans interested in our game. Feel free to bring up any questions or concerns here.

same. the "essay portion" is robust!

So... is this like a free form thing or does it use the rpg?

it uses the 4th edition l5r rules

Wow. That role-playing is considerably more in-depth than I was expecting. O_o

Well, I guess I have a month and a half to learn the rules to L5R RPG, learn how to role-play, and learn as much as I can of the lore of Rokugan in general.

Further question: can I expect this to user the setting as presented in 4th edition, or would I be Expected to know a bunch of details that got dropped out changed before now?

What we did was create a setting with its own history. It is essentially a projected extension of where the canon of the game dropped off shortly after the last official release of card sets. Players will be expected to understand their own clan's summary and reading the full history docs will help to flesh out their place in timeline event. Yes, there's plenty of homework, but we're also giving players plenty of time to think about it. You can find everything relevant here for your convenience.

.... I forgot how long these things were...

Hey, I went into WCIV with absolutely no knowledge about how to roll or the actual mechanics for the game... I just gave myself a magic dog and talked my way into and out of ****... Its not that bad. I made sure I played a courtier and shied away from major contests, just focused on the political tea parties... and I walked away from it perfectly, going from a simple courtier with a large book of friends to a rising political and economic powerhouse! Its just understanding the basics and being quick on the google button and the wiki search engine :)
