Does MHD-19 count as a droid for the purposes of R2-D2's Service ability? (You or an adjacent friendly droid or vehicle recovers 1 damage)
MHD-19 and R2-D2
MHD-19 does not have the Droid trait.
Not in campaign, as the heroes don't have any traits like that.
In skirmish yes, he's a droid.

That's what I assumed as well... just makes me wonder why he can fix himself, C3-PO and even the AT-ST in Loose Cannon, but not MHD... heh.

My query is specifically for the campaign, I'm just starting a solo play of "Open to Interpretation".
as the Imperial player, i let my heroes use R2's fix ability on MHD-19. it made sense as he is a droid

I mean... it's thematic but it's not correct.

really? ha ha. i imagine that would annoy the rebel players. its 1 pt of health
Really. In the campaign the MDH-19 does not have the Droid trait anywhere on his sheet or cards.

Yeah. I have to imagine that in the campaign, R2 has better things to do with his time than give Healbot one nugget of health back. Either he's an assigned Ally where he'd synergize with the mission goals, or he's brought in as an Ally by the Rebels. I suppose they could have him in on a mission where healing MHD-19 is the best use of his time, but... that doesn't seem likely or worth the effort.

In Open to Interpretation, his Service ability is buffed to heal damage equal to threat level. I know its to keep C-3PO alive, and he's also to tackle those terminals, but I had MHD in the front lines protecting them both... (Gideon was rushing them along, and Fenn was taking down any reinforcements).
Ah, I forgot about Open to Interpretation. I'd imagine having R2 able to recover damage on Healbot would make a big difference there. But yeah, he shouldn't have been able to do that. :/
I don't know why he doesn't have a droid keyword or something. R2 put C3PO back together while the Falcon was under attack. I can see where would be imbalanced though,
I think they probably don't like the idea of putting trait keywords on campaign heroes. Starts to get kind of strange I think, and it only matters in very few cases.
In case anybody is interested, official word is that MHD does NOT have the droid trait.
We had a similar discussion within our group, and we agreed it was silly but MHD simply doesn’t have the droid trait.
Kinda like Loku. Don’t people find it odd that he has to spend additional movement points to move though water? ![]()

Not really... there's a difference between swimming in deep water, or trying to wade through muck thats knee deep and hinders movement...
