Shadow Caster and Tactican

By ScottieATF, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Let me preface this by stating I'm reading of a squadron building app not the cards directly so I could just be referring to incorrect text.

SC triggers after you preform an attack that hits. Tactican is after you preform an attack. Timing wise these seem to sync up.

What I'm wondering is if I could preform an attack against a R1 target in my mobile arc, trigger the SC title to force a tractor beam token on them, causing them to barrel roll into a position that now has them at R2 and still in arc, and then trigger Tactican?

Thanks

I'd say yes. You choose the order of effects when two of your effects have the same trigger, so you could choose to apply the TT first, resolve it, then apply the Tactician.

Indeed, that seems quite... tactical.

It's two things triggering at the same time, so you choose the order.

Seems legit.

Also perform.

FAQ, P17:

If a ship is equipped with both Tractor Beam and Tactician, the tractor beam token is resolved as part of the attack, then the distance is measured for Tactician.

True, but not relevant. A Tractor Beam cannon applies a Tractor Beam token during an attack, but the Shadow Caster title applies a Tractor Beam token after an attack.

Yep, looks like SC triggers in step 8, where the canon would trigger between 6 and 7.
