Spray painting bases.

By Payens81, in Star Wars: Armada Painting and Modification

Hello everyone,

I liked the look that some people did with their bases and making them black. So I went out and got some spray paint and did the same. I was playing with a friend showed him what I did and figured it was a bad idea. He said won't the spray paint melt the acrylic? I did not think so I used a spray paint that says it is a good for platic. I got Krylon color master paint and premier in one.

Thoughts?

You should be just fine. The only things to worry about are the paint wearing off with use, as well as rubbing off and transferring to your cardboard bases.

Just get some matte clear coat and go over it again lightly. The Clearwater is a little tricky, though. It can become foggy if you spray it when it's too humid.

There are some full strength enamel automotive paints that can be bad for plastic... But most paint+primers will be fine... If you apply too heavily, they'll leave black crap on your fingers when you're moving about, so don't do that... Also, clear coats can help seal it all in... Most of the time, people don't care too much.

Thank you... yes I also applied a matte coat sealant as well... thank you.
