FCS and TLT

I know that common understanding of the new FAQ is that FCS triggers after both shots of TLT.

What I noticed is that wording in FAQ and in FCS description is different and I wonder if that is intentional.

Wording in FCS "after performing an attack"

Wording in FAQ "after attacking/defending"

Wording in TLT "perform this attack twice"

"After defending/attacking" is clearly after both shots. So Dengar can't kill you in between :) But "performing an atack" is not after both shots - you perform one after another and FCS triggers after "performing" not "after attacking"

I am having second thoughts.

Any opinions?

Performing an attack has been made 'the same' as attacking/defending.

TLT nerfed...

Ugh, that chart screams afterthought. I'm irked by the logic of performing an attack twice being eligible for only one "after attacking" bonus... but I guess that's what happens when a dedicated flow chart is released only afte unintended, broken combinations of certain cards are released.

Didn't think that TLT and Cluster Missiles were broken with FCS. Cluster missiles would have been awesome with FCS and Chimps on the Punisher. Who knows, we might have seen one or two in some tournaments!

I guess FCS Corran is ok but not TLT FCS Ghost...

You used to get FCS on redline with cluster missiles but the effect generally isn't that impressive.on such a mediocre ship.

The fact that the Ghost's tasty primaries benefit so much from FCS means it is still a great buy on a TLT Ghost. For 2 points, I find it really hard to beat.

FCS Ghost with TLT? Man those end of round double taps would hurt like hell!

I have heard 2 different things from different people concerning FCS and TLT.

By the flow chart does the TLT get a target lock between shots or not?

I can't get it. I got the "attack twice" matter, but why K4 Aggromech is now useless with U boats? Can someone explain it, please?

I'm assuming you mean the R4 Agromech. It's nerfed because when combined with Deadeye and a torpedo, you first spend your focus to be able to fire a torpedo, but before you select a target because first you select a weapon and then a target. R4 Agromech says that "when attacking, after you spend a focus token you may acquire a target lock on the defender" so you cannot target lock the defender as there's no defender defined yet. This is defined in steps 1-ii and 1-iii.

It's nerfed because when combined with Deadeye and a torpedo, you first spend your focus to be able to fire a torpedo, but before you select a target because first you select a weapon and then a target. R4 Agromech says that "when attacking, after you spend a focus token you may acquire a target lock on the defender" so you cannot target lock the defender as there's no defender defined yet. This is defined in steps 1-ii and 1-iii.

But, isn't Deadeye (or Blaster Turret) step IV of that? "Pay the cost to perform the attack", isn't that the step of any torpedo/missile etc? If no, what is the "cost" to any attack?

This is very true.

Plus the punisher may not even live long enough to fire a second volley.

Ah, you're right. I should have put steps 1-4 and 1-5 because only in step 5 does that target become the defender.
