Brobots don“t seem to be too hot these days. I gather Crackbots were decent enough against Palp Aces because they had a pretty good chance to damage an ace with FCS/gunner whenever they managed to line up a shot. So, what drove Brobots out of the meta? Was it Dengaroo, triple scouts, people getting more skilled with Palp aces?
Are Brobots out now?
I don't think they ever went away. Maybe not as popular now, but still deadly in the right hands and/or against certain matchups.
I'm guessing triple uboats hurt them most as they can't kill them in one round unless they get some lucky cries. Whereas the uboats have a decent chance to kill an aggressor if they get all 3 torpedoes off.
Partially I think it was just people jumping on the U-boat bandwagon rather than any particularly tough match-ups. The IG-88 crew card may breathe some new life into Brobots too.
I some ways I think they are more viable than ever with new illicits coming plus undervalued cards like Attani Mindlink; neither their offense nor defense has been particularly hampered, but the challenge of flying them has increased some since Wave 8 release.
They're not remotely out, there were two pairs in the top 32 at UK nationals.
The stresshog was what originally took them out of the meta.
Now that stresshogs are less common, they're more than capable as long as you know how to deal with aces.
With the IG-88D crew card it might come back as "Bromance", with maybe YV-666.
