Oggdude's Character Generator missing some armor attachments?

By daddystabz, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

I bought the Biofeedback System armor attachment (F&D pg 200) during our game last night but cannot find it in the Oggdude's Character Generator anywhere, so I can add it to my armor.

Does anyone know if it is missing from there or am I somehow missing it?

It may not be useable by the armor you have

It may not be useable by the armor you have

I am wearing Jedi Armored Robes. I wonder why it would not be usable. It has enough hardpoints.

In looking at the description of Armored Robes and the description of the Biofeedback System I see nothing that makes it not able to be used in the armor.

Try it with another armor see what results you get or make the attachment in the data editor and see what happens

I added Heavy Battle Armor and instantly the option for Biofeedback attachment appeared.

The Biofeedback attachment uses 2 hardpoints. The Armored Robes have 2 hardpoints. I also have an ability that lets me give 1 item 1 extra hardpoint, which I added to my armor, so it now has 3 hardpoints.

In the book it says this armor attachment can be added to any full body armor suit. Is Ogg's not considering Armored Robes full body armor? It looks most certainly to me as if it is full body!

In looking at the editor it appears that it considers Armored Robes only "half body" armor and that is why it will not allow you to install the Biofeedback mod. In the description for the Biofeedback mod (pg 200 F&D) it mentions it can be installed in any "full body" armor.

I think this is incorrect. Armored Robes look very much like "full body" armor to me. I am a Jedi Guardian in our local game. Almost all my defensive talents require me to spend Strain in order to make me a tank. Why would the game not allow a Guardian in his spec armor, which would be Armored Robes, not to have access to the one armor attachment that could be of great use in being a Guardian?

Could Ogg's have made a mistake on this?

You're looking at a dictionary definition of "full". The definitive example is laminate armor, which covers every bit of the body and can be environmentally sealed. Armored robes is partially fabric and partially hard armor. So it covers the body but isn't considered "full" body when using complex tech and seals that covers the entire body.

So due to semantics we are taking away the one armor attachment that would actually be of great use to a Guardian that uses Soresu (Int for Lightsaber). I find this frankly dumb.

It hasn't been taken away. Your GM is more then welcome to rule that it applies; the fact that there's an argument means it could go either way.

However, OggDude clearly had to make a choice when designing his character generator. He decided that the armored robes didn't quite fit for that attachment. Doesn't mean you can't come to a different conclusion, only that you may not be able to model it with his generator.

It's not semantics, it's a very loosely applied cayegory the game defines and uses. Most of those full body attachments are left to the GM's discretion on what can or can't be used. Oggdude isn't passing binding rulings on what can and can't be used, he's just making guesses that can be easily changed.

If your GM says that it can apply, then change it to full in the data editor. ;)

I am the GM. :P

Weird. I changed the attachment to half body instead of full body but it still will not show up for my Armored Robes as an option. ARGH!

Fixed it. I just think thematically it could work in that armor and would be a great option for a Jedi Guardian.

Notice plz that there is also a full jedi battle armor in Keeping the Peace, maybe that's why?
