Hyperspacing the Interdictor

By MandalorianMoose, in Star Wars: Armada

So with the Interdictor being a medium base ship it is eligible to jump out of hyperspace. I was thinking that an Interdictor with g8's and tractor beams accompanied by 3 firesprays could be a trollerific hyperspace assault force. Has anyone tried this yet? Anyone have any other fun grav shenanigans yet with the Interdictor? I know that targeting scramblers are amazing, but how has everyone's experience with the fluff side of it been?

(I'm loving the ship personally)

This made me question something. . . Do G7's and Grave Shift work if the Interdictor is the hyperspace ship? hmmmmm

I thought of the same thing while pondering hyperspacing it

All 3 Triggers (G7, Grav Shift, and Hyperspace assault) start with " Before Deploying Fleets"... So you could resolve them in any order... Which, on the face of it, would allow you to use them... I guess...

I guess the "opposing" argument is that, when you put the Ship into Hyperspace Assault, the Cards for those upgrades are "No longer on the table", and thus, you can't resolve the rest of the Card... So the Tokens go to waste at that point.

Exactly my hang up. . .

Now we are on the topic I would like to point out a narrow but flavoursome use for G7... Anti hyperspace assault tech. If they come out of hyperspace and land in G7 their speed is 0. You could also hit youself if not careful.

They would not work until it came out of hyperspace.

G7 would work, until you put the Interdictor into hyperspace, sadly Grav Shift Reroute does nothing until after fleets are deployed.

So just like your admiral being in hyperspace and having no effect, same deal on Grav Shift, and that means the window is gone, don't hyperspace your interdictor if you want to use GSR.

This is the main reason I keep g7 on my Interdictor instead of grav shift. Not only does it help with contested outpost, Intel sweep, etc, but it also makes picking an opponents hyperspace assault much less scary

However, it should be stated that G-7s are only going to work on the Interdictor itself when it comes out of Hyperspace :D

Yep, pretty good if you want to appear in somethings rear arc, and then not have to move into it's side/front arcs.

I was thinking something like this could be fun. Have the g8 Interdictor go into hyperspace with boba and friends, then jump in behind someone and slow them to a crawl. Demo and the other dictor fly as a unit elsewhere.

Why do you always have to divide by zero?????

Here's a query since the interdictor's main purpose technically is to prevent ships from escaping into hyperspace, should that potentially mean it could prevent ships from hypserspacing away if they leave the 6x3 play area?

How can you hyperspace away from the area in a standard game? There's no mechanic for this.

I think you guys are missing the larger problem here.

If this comes up, it means you've taken an Interdictor without Contested Outpost.

What is wrong with you?? :)

But seriously, I love this idea. I've been trying to bring myself to try it, but can't pull myself away from CO...

I had been thinking the same thing, but without an ISD to park on the station there is nothing to keep my opponent from charging in on me and taking it
