Youngster’s ability reads:

“Friendly TIE fighters at Range 1-3 may perform the action on your equipped E Upgrade card.“

Is that a base Tie fighter, like the Academy Pilot, or does it includes other ships?

Any ship type with TIE and fighter in it.

So fo and SF are also TIE Fighters. They can also take TIE fighter only upgrades. Ond be docked to the Gozanti.
