Cross faction ships/piots (and possible future expansion)

By Marinealver, in X-Wing

Rebel Shadow Caster (since whatsherface was flying it for the Rebels in a later episode). I was surprised it came out for Scum.

Well, it IS owned by a bounty hunter. Ketsu is introduced as such and only later helps out her friend.

The next episode it appears in it's fully fighting for the Rebels.

I'd like a Scum Scurrg (or whatever that Armada ship is called) as a large based bomber.

Yeah, I am surprised it is not out for X-wing yet, especially with Armada getting the 2nd half of X-wing ships.

Hopefully SMALL based. The grossly large abominations K-Wing and TIE-Punisher are small based as well. Scum has already way too many large bases, and needs a dedicated small bomber, able to maneuver between asteroids, similar to the 2 above.

But Scurrg could be a cross faction thing.

ARC170 for Imperial would need some howlrunner like good support ability, while itself being slow and lumbering compared to the aces. Fitting in with what Ikka said above about faction identities.

- Rogue Squadron and Wraith Squadron flew TIE fighters, Interceptors and Bombers.
- Rogue Squadron flew Defenders in a covert Operation.
- A Rebel Agent once stole a Decimator.
- Fin and Poe stole a TIE/sf.
- A TIE Phantom was also stolen by the Rebels.

So we totally need to make every imp ship cross faction...

IMO the cross faction ships should not depend on wether one ship was once stolen by the other side, but if it was used regularly. Y-Wings and Z-95s, etc fit very well as cross faction ships.

Ships like Tydirium could be custom added by the players for casual play. Or maybe FFG releases a Story/Campaign set with cards for Tydirium and a few others, that are campaign only.

In Legends, the New Republic made extensive use of captured TIE Fighters. Sometimes entire captured or surrendered Star Destroyers were operated with their TIE squadrons. But in new-canon there's no indication of that being the case, at least not so far.

At any rate, I figure there should be two basic scenarios for cross-faction ships. One would be if it was used in significant numbers by both faction, the other would be if the stolen examples were significantly customized by the second faction. In the latter case, unique pilots only is a good way to represent their rarity.
