I'm thinking of flying a rebel 2x T70's and a gray stress-hog. I don't know if I should equip the Hog with a TLT or an ion. I know TLT would give an enemy 2 stress or 2 enemies 1; but if the ion hits, it effectively gives a 2 turn stress. Just would like to hear different opinions on equipping the Hog.
Stress-hog Options
Honestly. This guy doesn't usually live to shoot rounds against most lists. You need to fire off that gimmick early and make it hurt with minimal cost to you.
Stress hog, Ion is the stronger option but with a bigger drawback with the range. TLT stress hog gives you the range three option. lists like brobots and palp aces can dance at range 3 against the ion but have to keep moving to stay away from the TLT. I think the TLT has more use.
Yeah the range 3 is worth the extra point imo

The double stress is actually from the title rather then the turret. With a TLT, both volleys are considered a single attack from the PoV of triggering the stressbot.I'm thinking of flying a rebel 2x T70's and a gray stress-hog. Yes, I realized that with the new battle flow chart. That is why I have the title on the "Y". Would be nice to triple stress a ship ![]()
If this is just for fun I'd try this
Y-Wing: Gold Squadron Pilot (18)
Twin Laser Turret (6)
· R3-A2 (2)
BTL-A4 Y-Wing (0)
T-70 X-Wing: Blue Squadron Novice (24)
T-70 X-Wing: Blue Squadron Novice (24)
X-Wing: · Biggs Darklighter (25)
Fly Bigs in formation with your stress hog for an extra turn or two of dealing stress. You have 1 point left over for a cheap mech if you desire
Or if you dono want the t65 you could try
Y-Wing: Gold Squadron Pilot (18)
Twin Laser Turret (6)

BTL-A4 Y-Wing (0)
Y-Wing: Grey Squadron Pilot (20)
Twin Laser Turret (6)
T-70 X-Wing: Blue Squadron Novice (24)

Use your grey Squadron to add additional damage to whatever your stress hog is shooting at. Personally I'd go with the Biggs option but it's really your call. Just a game after all
If you can wait a bit it seems the arc is the new best stresshog. If you have extra points add tactician or gunner for possible double stress.
Another amusing stress-dealer is Miranda with Flechette Torpedoes and Munitions Failsafe. Steal a dice from the Flechettes any time you want to regen. 2 attack dice will rarely hit meaning you get to keep the torpedoes while still inflicting stress on your target and regaining a shield.

If you want double stress TLT and title on the Y is the way to go.
A fun alternative I enjoy though is the StressX -- a T-70 with R3-A2 and Integrated Astromech. At 26-points the Blue Squadron Novice has better maneuverability and slightly better defense (7 hp behind 2 dice > 8 hp behind 1 die) than the StressHog, though you sacrifice double stress (StressX targets PTL aces, though). The 29-point SuperStressX (Red Vet with Wired, R3-A2, IA) likes to be stressed even more and gets a defensive and offensive bump when stressed. Again, not as effective from a pure single-shot stress delivery standpoint, but I find its overall contribution to a list over the course of a game can be greater.
TLT is much superior to the Ion Cannon on a stresshog.
It's not the range, it's the coverage. The R3 band is five times more area than the R1 band; and the overall TLT coverage is twice the area of Ion Cannon coverage.
