This idea just came to me. It could be utter garbage, I'm just kinda spitballing here...
Anyone ever try using Opportunist on Scouts? I'm thinking this:
Contracted Scout (25)
Opportunist (4)
K4 Security Droid (3)
Unhinged Astromech (1)
Total: 33
So we all know that Scouts are crazy good bumpers, so it's not uncommon to use one scout for bumping and the others for delivering punishing ordnance, but what if all the scouts could get a bonus target lock on most turns and still act like 3 dice primary ships?
Essentially this list lives and dies on bumping. You throw all three of your ships fast and furious into the dogpile and try to bump your opponent so that they can't get focus or evade tokens. If your opponent crashes into one of your ships and can't take tokens, the other ships are effectively 3 dice primaries.
The Unhinged Astromechs and K4 Droids serve the dual purpose of clearing stress from the Opportunist EPT and giving you the free attack mod so you can use your action to barrel roll into a better blocking position or take a focus action.
This list gets worse as your ships begin to explode, because you have fewer blockers to deny tokens with. This list will especially have trouble against any with Advanced Sensors (where your bumping won't stop tokens) or token passing, like via Manaroo.
All that said, I think it still might be plausible? Without Deadeye and torpedos, you kinda free your entire team up to barrel roll as much as you see fit, so blocking and shooting becomes way easier. Your dial gets worse, since you mostly want to do green maneuvers now instead of white or green, but you your range one zone becomes stronger rather than weaker, like it does in an ordnance version of the list.
There are definitely weaknesses here, but also it's a ton of HP, blocking, and potentially 3 dice primaries that are double modified. What are your thoughts on this? Would it be viable in a 3x list, or more effective if you mixed one of these in with a Bumpmaster and a more traditional torpedo boat? Your input is appreciated.
