Madine and Engine Techs

By Crabbok, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Suppose I'm in an MC80 Battle Cruiser with Engine Techs and Madine as my commander.

My maneuvers are:

I I

- -

I I I

Suppose I'm at speed 2 and I've used a Navigate command dial. Lets say I want to bump up to speed 3, and I now have 2 extra temporary Yaw value adjustments. So I decide I want to increase Yaw on my 1 speed, and my 3 speed, so I effectively go II, -, II this turn. Well, I also then trigger Engine Techs. Can my 1 speed maneuver be a 2-click, because I had earlier temporarily increased my 1 yaw by 1? When does "temporarily" expire?

What if I have a Nav Token also? Is there any combination to basically use Madine or the Nav token/command to both do a navigation command, to trigger engine techs, and have extra yaw to use on that 1 speed maneuver?

No.

Because resolving the command is the trigger to even use Engine Techs.

And you cannot use a command twice during a turn.

Ergo, you cannot spend a Nav Dial or a Nav Token during an Engine Techs Maneuver, as to even legally be ALLOWED to do the Maneuver, you must have resolved the command previously that turn.

"Temporarily" expires at the end of the maneuver. Otherwise it would be permanent (get a marker for your ship card), "until end of turn", or some other specific measure of timing.

Ok good explanation. This came up yesterday and we weren't sure exactly when the "temporarily" expired, and since it was still his activation we were thinking that if temporarily lasted during the activation, then it would carry over to that 1 speed maneuver. This clarifies things. Thanks!

Can't you spend a nav token without resolving its effect in order to use ET? I though I read that in one of the other ET posts today. . .

Yes you can.

The point is, the Nav Token must be spent, effect or not...... Therefore, it does not exist to be spent during the ET maneuver.
