Spice!

By AceSolo5, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I just wondered if anybody is making use of Spice in their games other than as just a potentially illegal cargo for smuggling missions?

If so how are you using it, what sort of bonuses or setbacks do you apply to its use & how do you treat addiction?

Without being too specific, I have a villain on Ryloth abducting twi'leks and doping them up with muon gold (from Fly Casual). His insane idea is to neurologically link these poor souls up into a massive living computer. Then he'll use the living computer for... evil .

Without question that's by far the best use for a living computer :)

...Has anyone ever used a living computer for anything else?

Is there another use???

Is there another use???

Just pull Scrabble tiles from a bag.

"WHAT IS SIX TIMES SEVEN?"

So does anybody have any examples of dealing with the addiction side of Spice either for their characters or NPCs?

I usually use the rule for Salt Addiction for Arcona on page 19 of Far Horizons.

Cool... I'll check that out :)

Dark matter season 2 has just started in the UK, they are using that same plotline. Coincidentally they are also using their drug fuelled living computer for evil, by predicting the future.

My living computer is made of the brains of all the padawans Anakin killed in the Jedi temple.

The movie " Minority Report " was similar, though it's debatable whether or not the precogs were being used for "evil". Certainly the idea of convicting someone for a crime they haven't committed yet (and may not have even considered doing yet) doesn't sit well with many people. But the intent, presumably, was to prevent crimes rather than react to them, which saves lives and prevents other damage.
