If they can pretend the first hulk movie doesnt exist can they remake the prequels?

Have you seen the Captain America: Civil War? The reason I ask is Spider-Man is a teenager and talks about that old movie.. Empire Strikes Back Remaking the prequels is a slippery slope, for everyone who doesn't like the prequels, there are also those that think the originals are "old" movies.

These people may say that the original films need to be remade. Think about that next time you whine about the prequels.

I've just turned to the Rebels TV series and treat that as the legit prequels in my head canon

Because the opinions of teenagers matter....Oh no that's right they don't because we are all universally idiots at that age.

That's why transformers makes money because idiot young people go in droves to watch explosions and to see near naked actresses.

Age of the film is irrelevant citizen Kane is still a gold standard, 12 angry men a fantastic film, the good the bad and the ugly is a spaghetti western still loved.

Quality stands the test of time which is why the OT isn't going anywhere and the prequels are near universally held up as an example of how not to make movies.

As much as I feel the prequels were plagued with terrible writing, poor direction, over reliance on CGI, lack of compelling character development etc. I really don't want them to be remade. I'd rather they stay in the past and be left alone. The Clone Wars TV show did enough with the prequel material to make them almost acceptable for me in the context of the original trilogy. Let's leave it at that. I don't want any Star Wars movie to be remade, not even the bad ones. I think that's a slippery slope.

I would definitely like to see prequel remakes at some point (tho I'd miss the Liam Neeson, Sir Christoher Lee, and to a lesser extent, Ewan McGregor and Nat Portman), but I suspect the contract between Lucas and Disney would contain some kind of clause barring Disney from remaking his movies for decades, if not forever..

The OT, tho, doesn't need remakes. Ever.

I grew up with the prequels and it's how my love for Star Wars started. Much like some of you guys grew up with the originals. I know their flaws, but I also love their flaws. They'll remake all of the movies but not for a few decades.

No, please no. We can never go more than a few days before someone has to go sh*tting the prequels...just let them be

Too soon. When my kids are in their 30s.

It could happen but you got to keep in mind some of those behind the prequels might have issues with it. However in the age of reboots I could see it happening especially after episode 9 is finally released and Disney is still chasing that 1 star wars movie a year policy

Now would it be any good is the question to ask. Disney played it real safe with recycling the popular story line in episode 7. We will have to wait for Episode 8 to see if they could do Star wars proper justice, or if all they could do is recycle story lines which will make any clone wars reboot simply awful.

No, stop remaking ****. Hollywood needs to come up with something original and stop rehashing and remaking things.

Meh, I really don't want to see it on second thought. The prequels have their place, the kids like it. Let's just let the things lie and do other Star Wars movies.

I don't want to see the same story again even if it's done better the second time around.

If they remake them, I'd have to remember they exist. And I don't want to have to go through that again.

prequel movies arent bad because the prequel MOVIES are bad. Theyre bad because the prequel SETTINGS are bad. As in everything written outside of movie bad.

They'd have to revamp a lot of crap. Also quite frankly they tried to cover too much ground in 3 movies.

Some people never grow out of idiocy.

Now, you apparently did not get point. My spider-man reference was used to point out that what is meaningful to one is not to another. If you advocate for someone to remake the prequels, then they may be someone that feels the originals should be remade. Like it or not, some people love the prequels.

As to Citizen Kane, I do not believe it is the "best" movie of all time. Certainly one of the most

Influential, but story wise, I consider it a stinker.

The funny thing is you jumped on me when I'm actually agsinst remaking everything. The prequels gave us MORE Star Wars, and the derivitive fiction spawned from them has been decent. Let them be.

Nobody can possible stand challenge when compared to Sir Christopher Lee. Not even Liam Neeson.

Remaking with another Dookoo is a fail to the core.

Hell no to remaking the prequels. They are awesome movies and are fine as is.

Are they perfect? No...but neither are the original movies either.

This should really be in off topic and I hope it gets locked.

Ahh see now you've just given up with that needless ad hominem attack.

Some small minority may like the prequels but the majority of the fandom does not and in business you don't pander to the minority you want to please the max amount of people so they pay you.

As for your or my opinion on citizen kane that's subjective and of little relevance, but you ask professional movie critics and people who love film it's always near the top.

And the prequels **** near killed star wars, episode VII brought back the love for people after a decade of rubbish and needless cgi editions to the originals.

Perhaps I am just fed up with the prejudicial notion that ALL teenagers are stupid, which you flat out said, as you casually said their opinions don't matter. Perhaps not being dismissed due to a factor such as age, colour, sexuality or gender should be ended. But by all means keep being prejudiced.

You still don't seem to get my point; Some like the prequels, some don't. Some love the original trilogy, some don't. Neither of these sets of films should be remade. There is no point. Love or hate them they are ingrained in the colective consciousness. You started being antagonistic concerning my defense of the prequels, which was also applied the original trilogy.

Disney is not pandering to the minority, nor are they being completely dismissive of the events of the films. The prequels brought in many new fans. The sequels brought in more. What this all means are we fans, which should be celebrating the merits of ths films and how it brought all us fans together, As opposed to bickering about whether any of the films are garbage. But you, Hobojebus, seemingly are so against anyone enjoying the prequels that you don't see the bigger picture.

How you and I feel about citizen Kane is similar to fans view of the Star Wars films. One of my friends kids, 6 years old, absolutely loves Qui-Gon Jin. His interest in the prequel character and his dads love of star wars give them a commin relatable ground. What I see you saying is that this kid is stupid for enjoying the prequels and is doing something bad.

Anyways, I've said enough. Perhaps we should stop butting heads and move along. We probably have better things to do.

All teenagers are stupid i know i was one, i very clearly included myself in that comment.

When i'm 10 years older im sure i'll consider 30 something me a fecking moron.

You get older you learn more you get less stupid, teenagers and kids know jack all about how the real world works, we think we do at that age but we are wrong every single time.

Kids are idiots and that's just a fact that's how we learn we make mistakes we learn from them and then we (hopefully) don't repeat them.

I never said the kids stupid for liking the prequels that's you projecting. i just blanket said no one takes teenagers seriously which they don't.

George Lucas himself has given the original trilogy two make-overs. They did not make the films better at all, yet do not change the fact that people love the original trilogy. It is absolutely silly to assume that a remake of the OT would have any real negative effect. If it is a stinker, it stinks together with two special editions and if it is any good? Hurray.

A remake of the prequels has even less to lose as they are already very badly made movies. Get Filoni and his team for writing, hire JJ again for directing, let JJ not write anything,he may be better at dialog than GL, but he still stinks at writing. Everyone is happy. Though lets be honest, TCW is iirc a little over 50 hours, we don't need a remake, even when it would be super cool and might give us Snips and a cool JJ in life-action. Before any remakes I would like to see TCW gets properly finished. ;-)

jesus christ guys it's been almost sixteen years.

Like purchase the rights to a majorly popular franchise that is still making a lot of money through merchandising and licensing rights and start making a movie a year for it?

CAUTION: Language.
