Dengaroo players - whats the palp aces strategy?

By acidReign, in X-Wing

Curious of those of you out there playing Dengaroo. What has been an effective strategy for defeating palp aces?

Specifically talking about a palp/soontir/inky or palp/carnor/soonir matchup?

I target palp typically with Dengar, but I dont seem to be able to kill the shuttle fast enough, the aces beat up on dengar too much. Dengar is still barely alive with a hull or two, or is dead, and then its manaroo vs two aces.

murder the aces. Zuckuss crew murders aces horribly. You have to get the double tap though.

While Zuckuss crew is great it far from "murders them horribly". You do know that a R1 Dengar attack on an ace with focus/evade/palp does 0,6 damage on average? Any competent palp aces player will not allow a double tap vs a tokenless Ace.

I find it to be a though matchup. I think your best bet is to kill the shuttle first, unless an opportunity to attack an ace comes up. Then hopefully you have Dengar on a few hp left who can kill 1 ace. Manaroo should be able to kill a Ace on her own with Feedback/Painbot.

Hope the roll blanks

A smart player would not fire on dengar and allow the double tap.

Which in turn cuts their damage output; this is a net profit for you. Meanwhile manaroo is either being chased across the map ( aka another ace not doing much), or she's chipping the shuttle to death.

The build is pretty much designed to murder palp aces; the trick is that you have to make your game plan flow based in theirs rather than following a fixed formula.

the palp ace plan would be to not play ships that rely on green dice

because **** those things

more honestly, I don't understand why manaroo is meant to be flown way the hell away from the fight when she has an EU for blocking and a freaking feedback array

Whenever I've beaten aces, I've never gunned for fel.

I've always killed the other ship, then shuttle, then fel.

Hasn't failed me yet, game 5 at our regional was my dengeraoo against jax, fel, and yorr at

the top table.

I killed jax, then the shuttle and manaroo managed to zap fel to death.

I've also beaten this build a few times as it is a friend of mine who flies it, and that's how I've beaten him other times before. I'm the only one he's lost to

If you go straight for the shuttle your going to struggle. The aces will get out of dengar arc eadier.

Don't focus on fel. Try get the other ship in your front arc. Fire off those plasma torp. At PS 9 it shouldn't be to hard of a problem, and hope he shoots back. You have to get that other ship off the board.

After that, go for shuttle, if dengar is hurting start getting manaroo in there. Try to feedback fel, or at least make him go where you want. This is why I also like to keep the painbot on manaroo, because when you do this she may become a target. Not so much with the painbot. Plus having the pain in her, makes your opponent a little more hesitant to shoot dengar

Problem with Dengaroo now is that most people know it's weakness and how to beat it consistently. It is a great ace killer as long as that ace doesn't have Palpatine behind it. Also whenever they reroll evades to evades it's awful, see the origins final to understand. Dengaroo was at its most powerful during Regionals when only like 6 of us knew and flew it because people didn't know what to do lol.

I don't know. Ive used it a lot on vassal prior to our regional which took place July 30, and haven't lost with it yet. Including at our regionals. (Made too 8 but could not stay till the end)

At least in my area it seemed most didn't know what to do.

I've beaten it twice on vassal, and each time I focused on dengar.

Block with Manaroo and hit them with an Advanced Proton Torpedo. Manaroo can put the last point of damage in with Feedback.

I haven't played the matchup that much since I'm currently one of the few palp aces players in our area. There are other players that occasionally show up with it though.

Hope that they attack me range 1 in arc so I can hit them with another APT.

I assume since you have a turret you could fly in such a way that you could just fly past the Aces and take out their shuttle. Still going to take a while, may have to blow an APT killing it quickly. Probably worth it to spend both APT's to kill it.
