Critique My Flying

By Boba Rick, in X-Wing

We have a lot of experienced aces around here, and a bunch of newer players as well. I'd like to open up a thread in which the older player can provide some constructive criticism and help for some of the newer players (such as myself).

Here's how it works:

1) Make a squad and play it RIGHT HERE .

2) Then at the end, under share combat click "Replay."

3) Give us a brief explanation of what you played and your impressions, and share your link.

Example:

I just played a crack swarm with Howl and Mauler Mithel. The swarm is tricky for me, hard to avoid bumping. I feel like I did alright though and I beat 3 torp scouts.

Did 1 of the torp scouts fly off the board? Happens frequently

My constructive criticism is to never use this as a barometer for your ability in this game. The AI is, understandably, awful. It's impossible to judge a human players decisions when the opponent makes terrible moves and decisions regularly. If you want to test yourself against fair competition, its best to try out Vassal or TTS, although this is a fine time waster when those wont do.

Nope.

I have used this simulator a number of times it can be fun but the computer really sucks, not really a surprise. But yes it is fun to use and can help with your flying around and not hitting things.

And I thought I was doing so well vs the AI.

you left your blinker on, you didn't give the right of way, and it looked like your tie fighter was drifting on the shoulder a bit.

Oicunn is the greatest because he doesn't require you to know how to fly.

The Ai is just too awful. Deadeye Torp scouts taking target locks?????

The most important thing to remember when flying Crack Swarm:

Ya as silly as this is, it holds true for this simulator. Throw in double YTs or double Decis if you want at least a decent challenge.

Yea the AI will also pop glitters on the opening turn when you're not even in range of anyone

I have learned how to fly well on this simulator, but it did not translate into improved real life flying.
