Top 10 Possible X-Wing Ships - A Great Analysis From Our Very Own Crabbok!

By FTS Gecko, in X-Wing

Incorrect. Nobody talk about u-wings and Tie Strikers because they are ugly.

Ever thought about what that U stands for..? My bet is on "ugly"

I think the N1 is very high in the list, after its inclusion in the Aftermath comics (pilot Leia is a must). I even believe it is higher than the Resistance Transport. We will get another utilitarian crew ship with the U-Wing, so no hurry for that abomination of the Resistance Transport.

I'm not convinced. FFG have been using the televised materials recently - specifically The Force Awakens and Rebels. Their introduction of the Quadjumper and Sabine's TIE shows how determined they are to continue using those sources.

The Resistance Transport and the Atmospheric Assault Lander are the only Force Awakens ships left, so I'd expect at least one of them to appear in Wave 11. My guess is the Resistance Transport, as Rebel ships are really thin on the ground.

Conversely, I think the inclusion of the ARC-170 in Wave 9 is a one off for prequel ships, and I can't see a comic appearance for the N1 changing that.

Looking at Crabbok's list, I'd put the ships in the following order of likelihood:

1 - Resistance Transport

2 - Sorosuub Luxury Yacht

3 - Mining Tie

4 - H6 Scurrg

5 - XG-1 Assault Gunboat

6 - YT-2000

7 - N1 Naboo

8 - Delta 7

9 - Ark Angel

...hold on, which ship am I missing here?!

There are 9 ships in the video! N1- is number 7, YT-2000 is (supposedly) number 6 and Assault Gunboat is number 4. ;)

Of those ships in the video, my list:

1 - N1 Naboo (iconic Prequel ship that featured in Aftermath, with Leia as pilot)

2 - XG-1 Assault Gunboat (fan favorite and come on, what do we have left for the Empire?)

3 - Resistance Troop Transport (I hate it, but anything from TFA will probably be added to the game)

H6 Scurrg (already in Armada)

Sorosuub Luxury Yacht (Scum "small" huge ship)
4 - Mining Tie (I hope we never come to that...)
5 - YT-2000 (important ship to the old school guys, but will continue to be pushed back in favor of newer canon designs)
6 - Delta 7 (no relation with the Galactic Civil War)
7 - Ark Angel (not in a million years)
And yes, any of those will come AFTER the Rogue One stuff (TIE Striker, U-Wing and any new ships).
PS: of course that list will change if any of those Legends ships (Gunboat, Scurrg or YT-2000) is canonized (most likely by Rebels).

Nobody talks about U-Wings and TIE Strikers because they ARE COMING until the end of this year. Heck, they could be announced at any time now.

I'd say that they'll get announcedon September30th when the Rogue One merchandise can be announced, or the first week of October...with a release the day of the movie in December EXACTLY like the Episode VII fighters were released before the rest of the wave came.

For me, there have already been many EU ships that I've not bought because I'm just not interested, so the prospect of more doesn't bother me. While I have no objections to EU ships being released I guess my inner old cantankerous self minds when they are being given stats/dial/abilities/slots that are so superior to the actual film ships (looking at you IG2000 and Jumpmaster, which have completely eclipsed the Slave I).

I'm most excited for new film ships so the resistance transport would be top of my list. Not so much for game purposes perhaps, but for fun/casual/epic/HOTAC play, as it'd be fun if the rebels had a transport type ship to rival the shuttle.

U-Wing?

I'd love to see Lady Luck, if only so Lando can be flown as something other than a novelty.

It's got plenty of crew and pilot options, that's for sure. Lando, Mara Jade, Hondo Onhaka and K'Armyn Viraxo, for a start.

Add the titles Highroller and Fortune and Glory to Lady Luck , as well. (I'm sensing a theme here)

Not to mention Jade's Fire.

I watched the video three times...I don't recall seeing Auzituck on the list. Gonna watch it again.

There's no Auzituck on the list because FFG haven't figured out an efficient and sustainable method of sculpting detailed minis out of wood yet.

First S&V Epic ship should be the C-ROC Gozanti.

- It is flexible (game-wise)

- It is based on an already existing model (so development costs would be less)

- It features in a popular, on-going, SW series

- Pilots could include some great characters as...

Hondo Ohnaka

Cikatro Vizago

Azmorigan

- Titles could be...

"Broken Horn" (as used by Vizago)

"Merchant One" (as used by Azmorigan)

- It would be compatible with Mining Guild TIE Fighters

- And it is not as BUTTUGLY as most of the other suggestions

It's also boring... you could do the conversion yourself.

THIS GAME NEEDS JABBA!!

With a SEVENTH variant on the bog-standard TIE heading our way in Wave 10, this line of thinking really pains me.

"Everyone gets a Tie Fighter!" As much as that thought sickens me, I'm sure he is right. I'm sure it is a good year out but we will see another Slave One. I'm quite sure that Boba Fett will be a main villain in the Han Solo movie. Just please don't call it young Han Solo.

Well...

1. I NEVER would have released the TIE as a Rebel ship. I mean... what... there has been ONE TIE temporarily borrowed by the Rebels. At most, I would have released it as a title card for Sabine's captured TIE and the Mining Guild TIEs, with a points cost to reflect their rarity as well as their different capabilities. Hardly, IMO, worthy of separate expansion packs.

2. There is no reason that Jabba could not be a Crew card on any of the S&V ships- I really don't see him piloting anything himself.

3. We have multiple versions of A-Wing, B-Wing, X-Wing, Y-Wing, Z-95, YT-1300, TIE Fighter, TIE Interceptor, TIE Advanced, TIE Bomber and TIE Defender... (did I miss any?) This may actually fuel Gecko's argument but does not seem to have bothered FFG or those who have happily included those in their collections.

4. The C-ROC is significantly different from the Imperial version of the Gozanti and would require a substantial rebuild. I think it would sell better than most of the rest (again, IMO).

Why doesn't the Skipray Blastboat get any love?

I still want to see an R-41 Starchaser. I would buy the heck out of that ship.
